I was listening to The Groove on XM Radio this morning on the way to work when an instrumental from '82 came on -- it was Tyrone Brunson's The Smurf. Anybody remember that tune? Anyway, it got me thinking. I was clasically trained on the piano as a child. I was taught to sight read and I know basic theory. I can basically pick up any sheet music and play it. But, I can't play the synth like he does in the opening to The Smurf. I'd pay for the sheet music if it existed. Heck, I'd even settle for a MIDI file if I could find one. This has always been my answer to learning grooves like this. I wish I actually learned how to play R&B, jazz, and blues styles instead of 100% classical. Oh well, maybe it's not too late. So, can anybody here help me with the intro to The Smurf by Tyrone Brunson? Strange request, eh? I'm curious if I get any responses.

I did it.

Which part do you want exactly?
