I've been wrestling with this one for a while and just can't work it out...

Whenever I try to record an audio stream from an ASIO app, using SoundForge running on wave drivers, I get little pops.

Usually just a single one every 20 to 60 seconds, just enough to ruin the take. It never crackles - there's just one pop only.

It's not a peak because the "pop" doesn't even show up when I zoom in on the waveform. And I've got plenty of RAM and the CPU isn't stressed.

If I record Reaktor in standalone ASIO mode going through to Soundforge (wave) I get pops. But if I record using Reaktor's own recording function, no pops.

I suppose from this that there's something about the wave driver & SoundForge ? But what ? (I can't imagine that the basic routing in Scope could be the problem).

Any ideas much appreciated.

I had pops recording in wavelab with wave drivers. I didn't solve it. I record in cubase since noticed that. I just click on the audio track and set the record path and i name the track with the name i want so to find the recorded file immediately.

rendering is NOT the same quality as streaming.

try setting the priority of wavelab to "above normal" in the task manager. it's probably a good idea to change scope to "below normal" or "low" for this operation as well.

Did you try adjusting the Wave Driver's buffer size?
