The current price for Solaris v4 will go up a bit (probably to 229 EU) starting March 1, so I suppose you could say that 199 Euro is an "introductory price".

Oh, John I should have explained that actually I already own Solaris 3 so the question was regarding the upgrade price offer rather than the full retail price.

Anyway it's a great package ceertainly worth the money.

Does it have all the enhancements (extra filters etc) that Solaris Core has?

Solaris v4.0 has all of the added features of Solaris Core, plus many new functions as well:

1) Added Midi Clock, No Track, and Low Range frequency controls to MultiMode (MM) Osc 1
2) Added Hard Sync to MM Osc 2 and RDX2 MMosc
3) Expanded hard sync in the FM and RDX FM osc sections
4) Added Looping Envelope (from Quantum Wave)
5) Added Control Shaper (from Quantum Wave)
6) Expanded Envelope Time/Segment modulation sources for all envelopes (previously there was only Velocity control)

WOW happy news,i'm very happy of this I love solaris,i have all zarg music staff except of new Qwave and now want upgrade solaris to v 4.0 and purcase Qwave,very thanks Jhon for your spectacular work please continue in this way

It's indeed again a generous upgrade, the sheer amount of new features speaks for itself !

And you won't see as well many synths that offer 60 modulations sources on most menus

Will make this WE some new sound files + have to name, " clean ", port, sort new presets ...

AzureFeast, the Noah port unfortunately can't be done for various reasons already discussed here.

A presets demo of pads, drones, FX and such stuff either in mp3 or ogg, 40 presets-10 min-17 MB.

It can give you an idea of the sonic range and there's so much more to be done ...

at first time i thought it's sun solaris os and it's suitable for audio

I just purchased Solaris. It sounds wonderful and must be the most powerful semi-modular for the Scope platform - a good contender for the best virtual synth on ANY platform including VSTs. It is so vast! Sounds like top-of-the-range hardware!

Thats because it IS top of the range Hardware!

i'm asking to myself, why creamware does not think about solaris asb .....

I'll submit more presets in February and more testers will follow !

I've said several times, I'd love to make a Solaris ASB. That has been a basic, central idea for several years now. But there are some problems, as has been mentioned...
One of the reasons I made the Solaris CORE was to see how a somewhat streamlined version would work, one which would be easier to translate to ASB. (Unfortunately, few seem to be interested in the Solaris Core, so this worries me about an ASB version.)

But if there's a way, I hope I can do it.

I agree. Solaris can be massively expanded with the Modular, plus the Adern/BB stuff. The core version translated to hardware would give access to Solaris's engine in hardware. No-one expects the whole of Solaris in an ASB box - its impossible - but (software) buyers of Solaris would generally opt for the full version - only people who are short of a few bob will go for the Core then prob upgrade to the full version

I'm sure Creamware would make a Solaris ASB if there is enough demand - they can't just sell emulations of old hardware synths - they have to sell new stuff too.

I'm afraid you're completely wrong with your estimation.
Let's hypothetically assume a huge control surface is possible, so John could release both the Solaris and the Quantum Wave...

Which one would be sold more, if advertisement would focus on the fact that the latter is the most trustful and most usable version of the PPG legend ?

I've read about an interesting sales research recently - people didn't care about the price at all.
Their only concern was the 'relative' amount it was off regular price.
Someone who considered a 'regular' 1k Euro TV as 'too expensive', would gladly spent twice the amount if the 'original' price was (say) 6.5k

the PPG Wave was a famous instrument and it was unaffordable - you literally 'spare' 5K Euro on it's virtual incarnation.

Nevertheless the Solaris is a phantastic synth and has the advantage (for live performers) that the complete sound palette is united under one hood.
But it's unknown... as was NOAH...
