I recently installed some new plugins (i.e Mix and Master pack and Pro12) from their oxe files and they are all installed in the right place and work fine but I've just had a look to see if they installed anything in my XTC folder and they haven't. This may be becuase I moved it a while back to be with my other VST's but surely the XTC dll's for the new stuff muct have gone somewhere or do they not come with XTC versions? Is there perhaps a seperate install for them or somewhere I can just download the dll versions only?

All XTC plugs use one of the three standard .dll wrappers. CWA have just not bothered to do this themselves.

Just copy a .dll from whatever plugin the plugin you wish to use resembles.
If it is a synth use the synth.dll's.
If it is a mono or stereo-effect, use the effect/mono or effect/stereo .dll's respectively.

You must rename this copied .dll to the name of the corresponding device in your DevicesXTC folder.

IE: Vinco.dll points to Vinco.dev.

There are more advanced things you can do, but this is the minimum. You can get any SFP plugin to work in XTC-mode this way, except for some who use the older preset-file system, or something. Those you can load in MultiFX M/S devices.

I wish CWA would make another wrapper for multiple input/output plugs. That way one could use entire mixers inside a modular ASIO host.

It might do but now I'm having problems getting a sound out of it. What I wanted to do was now I have some good mastering tools was to be able to integrate them into an Audio editor for mastering (Audition). So I would need to use XTC mode for that. However I've set up the plugins as suggested but two more problems have developed:

1) Audition doesn't seem to recognise most of them including Optimaster which is the main one I'm wanting to use.

2) I can't get a sound out of Audition in XTC mode (I wish it could use ASIO). I don't know how to edit the default project to make it work - I tried adding a Wave source to one of the asio ins but that didn't work)

Wasn't there some stupid trick to make it "work" with a Wavedriver?

Damn - I don't know of any decent asio audio apps (unless Wavelab is but too expensive)

I just use my regular ASIO-sequencer for "mastering".

Actually I don't have SX but from what I've read can't you use Scope plugins in the same way as you can use Hardware effects now in SX3 by using the external plugins setup? It looks a very useful feature.
