ERROR MESSAGE immediately after launch: "Unexpected DSP overload. If this message continues to reappear, please consult the Support section of the manual for advice on how to handle the problem. Choose cancel to change the project before reselecting the sample frequency in the sample rate settings".

SUPPORT SECTION in the "Manual_SFP_v3_1c_en.sit" download DOES NOT ADDRESS THIS ISSUE.

DSP Meter indicates: DSPs - 21 (only 1 notch is lit up in the DSP meter bar); DSPs 1/1-1/14 & 2/1-2/6 all show "0" for Sync and ASync.

Also, when closing "DSP overload" error message, received new error message: "System error: A communication error with SCOPE (board 0) has occured. This problem can normally be corrected by reloading the DSPs...." Attempted "Try" but received same result.

Pulsar II and SRB boards are essentially new, and I'm the original owner. ADAT Sync Plate has also barely been used. (Had success running system in past on PC.)

Newly installed OS 9.2.2 & SFP 4. No other programs installed. G4 dual 500, 2GB RAM, 80GB HD. (HD was erased before install, and is dedicated to OS9.)

So, what to do?

We don't know which cards you have... Do you have them connected with an STDM cable? Try to reseat the cards and the STDM cable(s) to ensure they fit tight. The second option is your Scope folder name constains a space (for example "scope 4 folder"). Try to avoid it and I'm sure you have to do a fresh install of scpoe. Please, specify which extensions/control panels you have and with what settings (especially the Memory CP as well as AppleTalk and some others). There also can be a problem with sync settings in Scope.I just have to know more specs of your system. Is the OS9 in normal mode or just 'classic' (from within OSX)? If so then it will not work as Scope doesn't work in the 'classic' mode.

As a summary: please, give us more info

did you extend the memory recently ?
while you can put 2 gigs in, the system can adress only 1.5, which might lead to strange situations.
When that Mac was designed, 2 GByte of Ram were completely beyond imagination ... you can bet it wasn't thoroughly tested

Can you swap the order of the cards.

The system might want to see your PulsarII first there.

You can do it also without physical swapping the cards; it can be done in cset.ini It's probably explained in the manual.

Thanks to everyone for responding. I apologize for not getting back to you sooner...Christmas madness and production projects! In the meantime, I've also discovered that Creamware does not recommend dual processor G4s, so I'm going to have to swap hardware and put the SCOPE gear in my single processor G4 1.25, which has only 512MB RAM. I'll try to get this done this week, and come back to you with the results, and further system information. You guys are wonderful.......THANK YOU!!!
