Hi there,
i'm going crazy with irq assignment with a gigabyte k8ns pro (socket 754) board.
When i install win xp in acpi mode, the irq's ar not assigned in the right way and more than one device is assigned to the same irq and using 1 pulsar 1 + 2 scope srb, is problematic with big audio projects because the same irq is shared by the graphic card and the scope cards.
When i install win xp as pc standard, i try to change the irq's from the bios, but it does not affect the irq assignments from win xp.
In another computer with the asus k8n mainboard, all irq's are assigned in a very clean way using the acpi mode.

Could anyone help me to solve this problem?

To be able to set the IRQ's in the BIOS you have to set,also in the BIOS, "Plug and Play":NO.
Maybe in acpi mode, you could solve it moving the cards to different slots, but I have an older mobo and I don't use it, so I'm not sure.

just a sidenote: do you have any IO-plates on the srbs ?
You probably have declared one of them as 'master' to improve latency.

Without IO-plates on srb any IO has to take the 'longer' route over the Pulsar One, which has a much slower IO interface.
While this is usually not a dramatic effect, it might add up in heavy projects.

Thank You Alfonso, the strange thing is that there is not plug and play option in the bios, but there is the option of set the irq of the pci ports...

do you have any IO-plates on the srbs ?

no astroman, i don't have i/o plates on the 2 srb cards.

well, there is nothing to setup.
If you only use sounds from inside your PC, softsynths, samples, VSTI etc then you can forget about the comment.

But external IO from adat, spdif, analog has to use the io interface of the slower Pulsar One, simply because it's the only thing with an interface to the outside world.

There is a performance penalty, compared to Pulsar Two IO plates (according to CWA's support on phone).
I dunno if this has any influence on your problems, but I thought it's worth considering if 'strange' errors occur.

Nevertheless an irq shared between a graphcard and the scope board would never be appreciated (as you wrote above), and is most likely to be more significant.
