Hello guys, i have to visit planetz a lot of time, i hope you are all fine. I have a problem with samples on sfp. I upgraded my pc few months ago and i have a problem since then with sample players. The sfp program hungs when i load the sts-2000, most of the times, if it get loaded some times it crashes when i load a program. I also have problem with the sample drum osc in the modular which makes my computer restart after some seconds. There must be some problem with the memory. I don't know. One strange thing that happens is that at the memory settings in control panel, i can't set the memory useage to system cache. When i do that the sfp don't start, and it says that windows had failed at the "delayed write memory" something and that can't writes at one file. I have to restart the pc in safe mode to change the parameter back to "programs". If you have any idea please give me a hint cause i really use the sample osc's on the modular. Thanks

Mine crashes on anything that has samples too: pick one of the STS series, or a sample osc, or any other sampler. 10-20% if time if works, but it's the other part that bothers me

See
this topic on the STS forum...

skat! i thought it was my system... i read the other thread, but i have no modem connected, so no solution for now. Also the volksampler in xtc mode has the same behavior. Can it be memory timing on the BIOS?

I never had crashes with the sts series, I use sts 5000 with great satisfaction also with the formant correction feature. I have an old Tusl2c mobo with 512 MB of ram (maximum allowed sadly).

well... i changed the value of intblocksize in cset.ini from 256 to 1024. The sampledrum oscillator WORKS now! I didn't check the sts but i don't care.
