Hi all

Two days im using my new Nord G2 Engine synth

This is little compare:

CW Modular and Flexor

+ WaveTable and Sample oscilator
+ Drum Sample Oscilator
+ Flexor Saturation modules
+ Flexor Shaper
- vocoder and effect modules not polyphonic
- many Flexor modules not polyphonic
- not full routable ( FM, gate, audio, signal )
- bad all parameter automation

Nord G2

+ better polyphonic ( vocoder, granular, sequencer ... )
+ more delay and sample delay mod modules ( like psymod )
+ absolute free routable
+ all parameters modulated and automation
- not sample and wavetable oscilator
- bad shaper function

Sorry my bad english

All english is welcome here - no need to make excuses!

More comparisons to the nord is also very welcome!

Cheers!

Kamil,
i am not sure what do you mean by not fully routable...
you can use lfos as oscs and oscs as lfos in cw modular, or trigger envelopes with lfos, etc.
only thing that is a bit tricky is converting gate to something else...

Hi Michu

This must see.

Try demo G2 from http://www.clavia.se ( demo only 1 voice and not suport midi and audio in function - other function running )

Warning demo not quality sound, original is better.

Little example:

1. all modules ( gate seq, control seq, note seq, lfo, efect, logic, envelopes .... ) using like polyphonic oscilator

2. all oscilator, lfo and envelope use fm source

3. all modules using feedback conect

4. automation is absolute free ( all modules is source for cc mesages and self modulation in one patch )

Kamil

Kamil, i see your point, that on nord some things are easier (their editor is class  )
and that in cw mod some stuff is monophonic only, but you can use lfos as oscs (Alfonso made a patch like this) you can use envelopes to excite tube resonator, etc.
also, you can frequency modulate any osc, it just requires additonal module (btw, in old modular 1 oscs had pitch and freqency mod inputs), i usually use mix2 module in frequency signal chain for fm
not sure what you mean by feedback...

i just try to make some of your points more clear to me
peace

I have both the CW Modular + Flexor and the Nord G2. They have a very different sound from each other and I enjoy them both. The Nord has a warmer analog sounding tone to it.

Hi Braincell

Warm analog sound - yes it is true

Im using CW Mod I+II+III+Flexor NM G1 and NM G2 engine

NM G1 - better bass sound
NM G2 - better psy mod
Flexor - better granular sound

I love all sound
