I've got three boards nicely running on my new DAW but can't install Cubase completely without an internet connection, something I wanted to avoid to keep pollution away from it. Anyway of doing a complete installation without the update search that the installer wants to do? I don't have a modem in this computer only networking...
Thanks

Says that set-up won't be complete without searching for updates to SX 2.0 cancel will exit the set-up? Weird no other option...exited and tried loading Cubase anyway and it freezes at "initializing:NSWRes"
any thoughts?

It's been frozen for eight hours like this...and so far no response from Cubase forum...."initializing:NSWRes". Dongle is recognized and is fine just the installation at the restart requires internet or cancel and then says that set-up is not complete..

did you let the installer search for updates first ?(what harm can it do?)it sounds like that install you have done is foobar. i've never had this problem.

I think the dongle needs to be registered via internet. It's been a long time since I did this, but I seem to remember that Steinberg has a provision to allow registering the dongle from another computer.
Also, shouldn't the dongle be disconnected when installing Cubase?

Done all that. It installed perfectly on my office computer when it could go online, it didn't even download anything because it wasn't connecting properly to the server. I quit and then was able to start Cubase. Makes the whole Scope thing seem so sensible to me now...
