I've opted for sending the Scope synths directly to ASIO destination instead of through a mixer so I can save some DSPs. I notice that on some instruments, even with the volume turned up to max, I'm only getting about 50% volume into my sequencer. Is there an easy way to boost the levels of all the synths in SFP without using a mixer?

since you name it: this device might also be useful as a building block for a mixer where each strip is controlled by it's own midi channel (f.e. to extend the limit of available CCs)

Sometimes a slightly distortion makes good effect. I like to use it with lead sounds and drums, too.

Thanks guys. I can't believe I never looked at the Channel device. There are probably a lot of devices I haven't checked out yet. I tried using the Expander to boost the dB, but the Channel device is enticing because of the effect inserts. Does anybody else here bypass a mixer in SFP? I'm still trying to get the optimum project setup (using Live as my sequencer), but I keep changing it.

the mixer is a good thing. connect everything including the sequencer to the mixer and monitor there. the stm2448 has busses and direct outs, the 1632 only direct outs. the 2448 is useful because it has control room, studio AND mix outs, as well as a monitor out. monitoring the scope mixer has some real advantages including latency free overdubs when using scope or external efeects synths and sound sources like mics...

i guess you probably know what the advantages of a mixer are, but are trying to save dsp. in that case you could use one of the smaller mixers. one trick that might help you is that you can usually connect an output to more than one input.

Space f had a device called Board8 which might do the trick. Not sure where it is now - you might try mailing him.
