Please tell me how these get-togethers are organised.

What elements does one find on the laptops?
Are they linked together for syncronisation?
Who does what?
What kind of sound system(P.A.) is used?
How do you decide who does what and when within the event?
Is there a meeting with all the musicians before the event?

I'd sure like to get one of these event done here

This is Psycho-delic. Very unusual indeed. It appears to be a representation of sonic manipulation, desregarding all conventional musical consciousness. It must be fun to play live with no boundaries, just noise interaction.

Chris, this is awesome! Would love to be there.
I also would like to know very much how it's done. But apart from the technical aspects, it's just very good and original music!!!

True! I really should have mentioned that. But then, you know how much I love your music, don't you?

Will be back home next week again.
So I have to be short.
We have no meetings before, no track or minute is planed, we just come together and make music together.

Sounds impossible but that´s true.
We have several small meetings here and there, mostly in a flat.
But we never play a track twice.
We just a couple of people that have the sensetivity to play something or not, at the right moment.

Sorry to be so short.

Read you next week.
Thank you for your replies, nice that you like it.

Paul, yes I know... had no chance for Essex in double speed, because I erased all midi tracks

Now some more details about SphericLounge.
Spheric Lounge is a live electronic ambient project in munich.

It started with a electronic jam session in a munich bar and is one year old now. In this year we get a steady component in the munich music scene.

We are an open circle of friends that meets several times in a month, in bars, clubs or simply at someones flat. Everyone is invited to visit us and play with us.

All sessions will be recorded and will be uploaded later on the sphericlounge.de homepage, free of any charge.

The remarkable thing on those sessions are, that we always find a way, when all musicans come together musicaly, I think it´s a way of
discipline above the music and above each other.
We have no plan in a session, somebody starts with something and the others enter the flow, that can last for hours.

We take no money for our sessions, the listeners that are on tour through munichs scene, came by and relax a while.

I don´t know how sphericlounge is financed, I guess it gets some money from the township because that´s the way I found them, through a munich township homepage.
But I will inform me about this on our next session and let you know.

The sessions are orginised through the internet, we have dates for a session, next saturday for example and only an invitation mail contacts you to come by with your gear.
Everybody get plugged into the mixer and the session can start.
We have not a special PA, we look what we need and ask around who has this or that, all is very improvised and self organzied.

Techincaly, we are not synced together, yet.
We want try this soon, though.
Everybody plays his instrument, native, hardware or accoustic or just sing.
Also it can happen that we change the instruments among each other, how the flow goes. There is no decision on who does what nor we have a given path.
Every session is a new one with new tracks that are born within the session. Simply live.
You can prepare some tracks if you want and fire them off when you feel it´s the right time.

If you have any question, feel free to e mail me and I´ll answer.

Two of us were in Hungary last week to a short vacation.
They had some gear with them, took a bench on the beach build up their gear and made music under the starry sky.

We are just crazy people that love to play live electronic ambient music, wheresoever.

heh, so chris carried the spheric-lounge virus here, too... he infected me with it after the first session he has attended, and at the last two sessions, we went there together, sharing his PC based setup. today, there'llbe the next session, a private session this time, and we are going to use my pc this time. I'm eagerly looking forward to it!
the project itself is absolutely great, imagine 10 or more freaky musicians, sound tweakers, players and all will communicate through the sound they hear from the others, not being hardwire synced or anything: the result is a mirror of the session's level of harmonic, musical communication.
I love this project already and I'm happy to have become a part of; it brings back my inspiration and mood after all the hardships I had to go through this year.
cheers, joe

Great stuff, great situation. You can hear that magic that only a live improvisation can bring.
