just after some feedback on the mix and mastering of this track that I recorded for a local song writer.

I was perhaps wearing a little too much eye-liner during the guitar parts - especially the solo

It's not what I do best, but tried to stay true to the genre.

GAM as usual for guitar

Really liked this. Can you tell us a bit more about how you recorded it?

Not really much to say -
Distortion guitars originally recorded through GAM. One guitar loop from Troy Casha's original recording ( the loops with the clean sound and delay)

Bass and drums programmed using Cubase 5.1 and a couple of VSTi's.
Vocals recorded using Studio Projects C1 Large Diaphragm condenser mic.
Words, vocals, original arrangement and delay guitar line - Troy Casha
Rest me (Brett Grace)

Just wanted to revisit this. What exactly did you use for drums?

Can't remember mate - will have to open the file and look.
I tend to use layered loops - chopped up and a VSTi or two

That would be good if you could have a look and let me know. The drums have a good feel in this song so I would like to know what sample set you used and what vsti/sample player you used as well.

O.K - looking at the file - all it is a loop and some cuts (fills)that look bounced down and time stretched and a pearl kit (cymbals) being triggered by SR202.
I can send you the loop and kit if you want?
My best guess is that I used Rock Collection from BandMates.com - but I have nondescript names for them like: verse-Converted.aif and intro2-Converted.aif
So it's possible I also re-amped the loops as well (tape saturation, compression - then either bounced or re-recorded back into mix)
PM me if you want some loops

Ah-ha !!!
Drum samples are originally from Pro Sessions loops.

Anyway - I emailed you the midi file, the drum kit and the two sample loops.
Hope it helps
Cheers
