Hello !

Could anyone recommend a completely basic synth that I could play just using the standard keyboard of my laptop ?

I never think of tunes when I'm actually at my music computer, but always when I'm daydreaming in front of my laptop. So it would really just be for getting my note bearings to write down to manuscript ...

Thanks for any responses,

Will.

If you have VST use Krakli. They are free.

I saw that you can get a free bit of software that turns you keyboard into a midi trigger on the propellerhead web site - you might wanna also check out - http://www.bome.com/ - for their "mouse keyboard" thingy, might be helpful.

heh, if you enjoy sounds like those, coming out of certain silverbox,
then go to http://www.devilswhisper.com
and get creakbox beta.
as the dreaded original, it doesn't exactly need the keyboard

Native Instruments has a free synth called Soundforum Synth that resonds to the keyboard. There's nothing better than this, you quality at an ubeatable price. (search their site for it)

if your host supports routing midi between vst plugins, then it is worth to look up chordspace beta. link was posted somewhere in kvraudio.com forum AFAIR...
it generates cool chords and arpeggios and can be controlled with mouseclicks

Bome's midi keyboard is perfect. Simple and simply great - I'll never have the excuse of forgetting a tune while at work again.

And I love the idea of postcard ware ! he he

Thanks for all your help
