Hi,

I'm unable to get sound out of Cubase nor Sonar Midi sequencer, despite the fact that midi signal from Cubase or Sonar console is showing, can anybody tell me how to figure out that. Midi connections between Scope and sequencers are sorted out but I get no sound, even when playing a syntheziser, help would be more than welcome,

cheers,

Is your ASIO out connected to your mixer?

Did you select the right port in the sequencer? What does MIDI monitor tell you in Scope? Do the channels match? Have you set up any filters?

Hi,
same problem, I've tried everything no result. However, in cubase I see signal output when striking a key from a keyboard, that means MIDI is well connected, so can anybody tell me how do I set scope for MIDI signal incoming from cubase, I'm sure most have used midi in cubase for sequencing, I'm sure I'm doing something wrong, but I'm no novice I know how Scope is supposed to work,

cheers,

ps: maybe I'm not being clear, but it's something trivial, as I've done more dificult stuff within Scope,

Can you post a picture of your routing or setup.
If it happens in both sequencers then it must be a routing problems.

hi mate,

think the problem is not within cubase, as I see midi signal when I striking a key on the keyboard. Now how do I set Scope to play midi signals that come from cubase, I think the hardest thing to do is to make cubase sound thru Scope not the otherway round. So how do you guys set up Scope to receive midi signal from cubase, don't to display pictures for that plus I don't have the means to do so, cheers anyway mate for your interest,

regards fella Z,

Hi Dubcotics,
depends on what you want to hear from cubase, VSTinstruments will travel through asio, so you will have to setup output bus and connect it to scope's analog out or whereever your monitors are. If you want to hear general MIDI sounds, well SCOPE in itself dont have a GM synth so you will have to rely on Microsofts soft synth that you can drive from cubase- for this you have to connect wave source to mixer or directly to monitors. Also you need to setup midi output device to GS Microsof synth(or something like that) in windows control panel. But you will have nasty latency if you want to play that live.

Make sure you have "Sequencer Midi Source 1"
and "Sequencer Midi Destination 1"

Hook up a SFP synth with the "Sequencer Midi Source 1".

Check the Device Setup in cubase.
Under "all midi ports" make sure the CreamWare MIDI In/Out 1,2,3,4,... are active.
Make sure the Asio driver is loaded properly.
If there is no clock sourse try reselecting the Asio Scope driver. If cubase asks to switch or keep. Tell it to switch. After that the Clock Source must be "sync to CW DSP Hardware".

Create a miditrack , and set the output of the track to "Creamware Midi IN/OUT 1"
If the synth has it's midichannel on omni , it will recieve on all channels. Otherwise make sure the channel output in cubase is the same a the synths midichannel.

Now try a note. If it still fails , then there something wrong for sure.

cheers,
Casper

hi,

I've made it! Thanks to your support also. Now I can play Midi and hear MIDI. I did some very interesting stuff with the STS. Via midi editor in SONAR LE I can draw every single instrument that has been loaded on the STS. I mean STS is acting like a VST instrument within SONAR midi editor!! Unlike XTC you can only control it from Scope and every single synth also, so why bother using XTC!!
When I play MINIMAX via midi, I can record every thing on the midi editor. It's new to me dunno if you folks done such thing before, didn't know Scope's instruments could be embedded into a midi sequencer.

cheers,
