it's recommended that it's better to mix in scope than in logic / cubase. To do this I'm routing each stereo track in my tune to a different logic output and then have routed each logic output to an stm4896 input.

Thing is I'm getting glitches and occasional stops in logic(5.5 on winXP - tuned for audio) when moving other windows around while playing which have for the most part been fixed by setting the process buffer range in the logic asio settings to jumbo..

I wonder how much RAM you guys would recommend to do this sort of thing? currently I have 1GB

Try running Logic in AboveNormal or High priority. You can do this thru the Task Manager, or automate it with a batchfile containing a line similar to "start /abovenormal c:path_to_logiclogic.exe" (replace /abovenormal with /high to have it run at High priority.)

I had it working fine with 512Mb of RAM, so 1Gb should be plenty.

I've increased the priority to above normal and logic seems to glitch even less now.

Would like it to happen automatically tho,

Just create a file (with notepad or any other text editor) called for example Logic.bat containing that one line I wrote up there. You can put it anywhere, I guess the best place would be wherever you installed Logic, but anywhere is fine really. Then you just create a shortcut to the .bat file and start Logic with that (you can change the icon to Logic's icon in the right-click menu.)

just to be sure: is you pc set up with priority to background services instead of programs? If it's not it will cause glitches (at least in Cubase SX it does)
