SSL taken over by ... Peter Gabriel!
  • Solid State Logic is pleased to announce that the companies assets have been acquired by a joint venture established by musician and technologist, Peter Gabriel, and broadcast industry entrepreneur, David Engelke. The company, which will trade as Solid State Logic, will continue to design and manufacture mixing consoles and related audio technology at its Begbroke, Oxford headquarters.

The principal investors bring considerable experience of both the company’s main markets: music recording and broadcast.

I wonder if he'll make anything of the company? Could be interesting...

Seems to me though they don't have much of a market left to sell to, at least in the music world.

PG way was always focused on challenges not making money. Once I read his biography and his whole life was a big dream - plans made for his "So" album videos were so huge they would eat all the money earned on this album!!! His mid '80 festivals (with artists from all over the world) costed so much he was almost ruined (guys from Genesis helped him inviting him to play with them in their gigs for money). So he's a visionaire, a future technology guy, great mind

Guys like that need a strong woman to control their spending urges. On the other hand if your name is Peter Gabriel you can afford to go broke once in a while.

Methinks the rumours about PG's financial hardship are greatly exaggerated..........
