Hi folks,
I am rebuilding the studiopc again, and wanted to try to get Scope 4 going.
Last time I tried, I gave up, and used 3.1C instead.
Now I would like Scope 4 going.
The problem is that many files are missing.
I have downloaded the installationfiles many times, in hope it was corrupt, but it isn't.
And I have done the "remove read only flag".
So now I wonder what to do next.
Anyone know something?

well, you can always install those files manually. have you checked to see if they are really there? i would also check to be sure that the file is not marked "read only" when you verify it's existance. you can uncheck "read only" file by file if you need to. the only time i had a problem with an install of v4 i had antivirus running, v4 really shouldn't be a probelm, it seems that those with the "file missing problem" have it with the downloaded version. maybe call your distributor and get a cd....
turn off all antivirus, etc and make sure your login to windows has administrator privileges....that's all i know. v4 is usually easy as pie for me.

i think "read only" option doesn't matter, i have checked now, it's the same, it should install normally, but everytime i have installed sfp4.0 was on clean install, just after i re-format and install winxp freshly and installed mobo's drivers, graphic and then sfp4.0, so no other applications was running,
i never had any problems installing sfp4.0 on any comp. setup,
check if there are any appz running in the background,
my sfp4.0 folder is 191mb big (installation folder),
but like i said before, i only installed sfp4.0 on clean setup, freshly installed, so
i think that's why i didn't have any prob. so far

Hi, and thanks ....
Well this is a fresh install. I remember though, that I was unable to install sucessfully nothing else than 3.1C before, and it was only the cd version that worked.
I also tried the read only method, but it didn't work.
I however installed another downloaded sfp4, and installed on the top, and some problems vanished.
I am not sure we have any distributor in Norway anymore.

Very good info from.fidox.
SFP4 is easierst to install the older's software.you must check what's you doing wrong,
always remenber,little clicks & pop's your HHd must be reformanted,possibly repartition, mobo drivers must always be install,you will never have problems
cheers

Thanks, I know....
This is how I did everything:
1 Installed WinXP on C: ,drive is not partitioned
2 Installed Chipsetdrivers, and mobodrivers
3 Installed Graphicsdrivers (Matrox Parhelia P750)
4 Installed Nuendo 3 and updates
5 Installed Scope card (15dsp)
6 Installed the Scope 4 software
7 Installed 2x UAD1's, and 1 TC Powercore mkII and their drivers
And I used Ghost all the time (from dos disk), so I could go back anytime.
The mobo is Intel D875PBZ, CPU P4 3.2Ghz Northwood, 2 GB RAM (4x Apacer 512MB CL2 DDR400), no p-ata used, 2 disks on s-ata....
This is the pci list
pci1 =no card, might be a FireWire
pci2 =Scope
pci3 =TC PowerCore mkII
pci4 =UAD1
pci5 =UAD1
The Scope card is not sharing IRQ.

Forgot one thing;
I unzipped all the files from CW,
scope4, modular2 and 3, the manual per CWA's site instructions. Downloaded the allkeys.skf file, and used that one during installation.
Hmm, I don't think I forgot anything now!!

afaik, there are no known issues with installation other than the ones i mentioned. most people's installs work. ask your dealer for a cd.

AFAIK, there is no dealer here in Oslo anymore.
If anyone can make an ISO of the Scope 4 CD, I would be very happy ....
I feel kind of miserable, because I got Scope 4 correct setup on a system with only a Pulsar1.
But I will get it correct soon....
Best Regards

Hello! Jea!
I think you have too complicated setup (i.e loads of pci staff). So try to remove all pci staff besides CW hardware, also disable unused motherboard staff like COMs, FDDs,Parallels. All of it eats IRQs and loads Win32 kernel time. I think SFP 4.0 installed correctly on your system but cannot run properly(in your case reporting about missing files) due hevily loaded PCI bus and consequently unproper motherboard working or may be poor(uncorect) driver IRQs handling for some devices (pci or motherboard). Try to use simpler setup for starting and dont use any advanced drivers for conventional stuff like IDE ports or so on.

Hi JGR,
I don't think so. SFP 3.1 works....
And if you see the order I installed in ....
No other pci thing was installed, or even was in the machine before the install of it.
So it's not the mobo, or a machineconflict.
I'm waiting for a Scope 4 CD arriving from Germany this week, so hopefully it will be ok then.
But thanks for trying to help

Hi,
I got the CD from CWA some days ago, but it was the same problems, files missing.
I edited the allkeys file, removing duplicates and the other scopecards ....
So I went back with Ghost, and installed again.
Same problem, missing files.
I did the attrib trick ....
And found all the dspfiles, copied manually....
And then I have working SFP4.
But I have not connected the amps yet....
So, I hope it sounds ok too!! LOL
