I have a weird problem when I run SFP 3.1c it disables the ability for me to read my DVD's, but only Video DVD's. Data DVD's seem fine. In explorer I get the message "Drive F: Access Denied"
I have a PulsarI, P4 1.5Ghz, and a Plextor DVD RW and a Sony CD ROM (Both IDE). Running Windows 2K. Everything else works perfectly, in fact I can't believe how smooth the transition from my W98 box to this one was.
I've installed the latest ASPI Drivers (4.71) but no luck.
Everytime I start SFP I can't watch a DVD.

Or as in the goofy hero in Space Balls!
Thanks Stardust but that didn't work. It seems that the software locks the drive from DVD Video access. If I start DVD Player, Let the movie run whilst starting SFP, stop DVD Player and restart it again then it works! SFP doesn't have access to the drive to lock it if something else is using it. There must be a driver or something loading to read Akai CD format that is causing this. It's that that I want to be able to switch off for that drive.
I can't believe how well it works otherwise and quite frankly if this is the only problem I can live with it but you know how you (meaning most people) like to have everything working just right. Am I being too optimistic here?
How is everyone finding Scope v4.0? Should I upgrade?

What DVD software are you using, and is the CWA card set as the default in the "Control Panel->Sounds And Audio Cards" config? If there's two audio devices, the app may not know which one to use. Also check the DVD player to see if there are any special DirectX or otherwise audio functions selected which the CWA stuff doesn't support as that might hinder it from starting the movie.

I'm using Power DVD and there's only one sound card and I'm pretty sure that's set as default. If the SFP software isn't running at all then I get no sound from any app. It needs SFP loaded to get the windows wave drivers doesn't it?
Remember though that it's not so much the sound, I can't actually access the DVD drive in explorer when SFP is running.
Thanks Sam I'll check it when I get home.

Solved it. If there is an Akai CD in one of your CD ROM Drives they both (if you have 2) become locked from Explorer and any other program that tries to access them. But only if SFP is running.
I took out the CD! Now it works.
Thanks for your help though. No wonder you couldn't help me. Stupid users!
