I know this subject has been posted before but i still can't get the system link to work with the amount of information given from other posts.
I have read the nuendo / cubase sx manual and viewed a clip to inform me about how this works and gets connected but i still can't get it to work.
I have a few questions that are not yet answered even after reading viewing nuendo / cubase sx manuals and reading other posts of this subject.

heres some questions i have:
1 can the digital connection be spdif or only adat between computers? I only have spdif i/os available on other pc.

2 do you run scope in xtc mode or can it also work when running scope platform? (tried both)

3 when running scope platform, in the system link setup of Nuendo there is no digital i/o to select even though spdif i/os are
openned in scope platform so how do you get dig. i/os from this menu?

I have PowerPulsar 15dsps with Z-link and A-16 connected. I use Nuendo and my setup is very stable never ever had a crash (knock on wood) so everything from this part of system is ok.

Trying to connect to another pc with nuendo which run fine that has a Creative Audigy 2 for a sound card.
(i know sfp with creative is quite lame but if i can get system link to work i'll get a better card for pc2.)

If the audigy2 is the problem then thats fine
but if the sfp can't connect via system link then I'll have to scrap the whole system link connection.

I need to resolve these issues to determin
me next step for my studio's setup.

Any feedback would be appreciated.
Thanks

It may be that those answers are all the experience of system link done here...I never used it, I don't even remember the topic, so I'm sorry I can't help you.

A.f.a.i.k. it's not something very used and I've mostly been reading of complains about it in Cubase forums....

Anyway, keeping in mind that I didn't even read the system link section in Cubase manual, make sure that your Audigy2 (that I don't know at all) is slaved to incoming digital clock from the Scope (the other way around should suck bigtime), because for digital connections devices must be syncronized.

This is all I can say...

1 can the digital connection be spdif or only adat between computers? I only have spdif i/os available on other pc.

--> spdif or adat; will work with both connection types

2 do you run scope in xtc mode or can it also work when running scope platform? (tried both)

--> running nuendo 3 and cubase 3 via vst system link (currently syncronized via lightpipe/adat) in xtc-mode. with no problems.

3 when running scope platform, in the system link setup of Nuendo there is no digital i/o to select even though spdif i/os are
openned in scope platform so how do you get dig. i/os from this menu?

--> try to enable xtc-mode. start nuendo/cubase --> be shure to activate the i/o's in the control panel -> if everything works fine i/o's should be also listed in the system link panel.

I have PowerPulsar 15dsps with Z-link and A-16 connected. I use Nuendo and my setup is very stable never ever had a crash (knock on wood) so everything from this part of system is ok.

--> so vsl should work for you!

Trying to connect to another pc with nuendo which run fine that has a Creative Audigy 2 for a sound card.
(i know sfp with creative is quite lame but if i can get system link to work i'll get a better card for pc2.)

If the audigy2 is the problem then thats fine
but if the sfp can't connect via system link then I'll have to scrap the whole system link connection.

another hint: be shure to use ASIO 1/16 or ASIO 1/24 bit. vsl doesn't work with 24 bit ...

cheers
