may be he has a labtop with Scope card mounted on his tank, to produce some ZZ Top grooves on his trips...

egyptian, i think connecting your midi interface with the DMX input of a lighting desk and connect the motors to a DMX channel. this way you can cue the motors with your prefered sequencer.
with ableton live (or any other sequencer), i can control lights, video, music, motors,... anything really that recognizes midi or DMX.
