Lots of groove variation going on.

Not a style I'm used to. Amazing music. Great energy and groove. Wonderful production and playing/programming. It's so far above anything I do, I'm scared to even comment.

The only thing I can say is that for me, there was only one main riff with three chords. Basing a 5 minute song on this got too much. And I'm gonna have to work damn hard for a long time to get close to what you do.

Hey Ken! I want to know how you program those drums... please!

the drums was the easier part I think.. Anyway, I used a VSTi drum machine called Microtonic. It's a drum machine with built in sequencer. It's got accents, rolls, (however fast you want it) you can also trigger the sounds with the keys as you're playing the sequence (to add stuff). So, it's a nifty little thing. Actually I use it all the time since I bought it. I still think my "in the ass" mod patch does better kicks but hey, you can't beat ease of use.

emzee (or mikka): thanx for the comment. ya, I guess I'd agree on the 3 chords getting kind of tiring. I mean, you can tell I'm trying to stretch the variations quite far, but the bottom line is, it's still 3 chords looping for quite a long time. So, I'll think about it next time. Don't ever be scared to comment man. Arrogance sucks, but with me, anything else goes.

thanx, clarity was definitely something I was going for. I really wanted an airiness that's kind of like the air outside. Er, I'm not making sense am I. hehe. I also think it's the way I organized the material that brought out the clarity even more. There's alot going on, but not too much is happening at the same time.

You can always print the output of the microtonic to a spare midi track and put the Ass back in that way

I know I've been into this before with one of your other tracks, but I think the production sounds strange, like a "phasingeffect thats not moving".!?
Now I'm just curious, Is it because I'm listening to this on headphones?

I like it very much, particularly the beginning Ken. Then it becomes perhaps a bit too much of the same for me.

The sound is different, I don’t know how you mixed it, but it is different from all the other works you have done. There is a crisp and tight particularity.

Here the bottom sounds slightly distorted, but it is not unpleasant, perhaps this is what you wanted for it to sound.

Ken, just an idea: would love for a middle part on it, coming to a full pad or something like that, with at least one or two measures, going against the constant attack of several chords, and with a soft and deep bass drum that could continue the foundation of the first rhythm. When coming back, the impression of the first groove would be a great lift
