Hey,
I have a Pulsar 2- Z-link that I just hooked up to my new A16 ultra... when i first started messing around in SFP, the Z-LINK A + B Dest and SouRCE both loaded fine.
Then, I think i might have disconnected one of the powerplugs that connect to the board.. (i thought i reconnected.. but have not reopened computer to check). Now when i load the Z-Link B Source, it says "... not recognized. Check your hardware" or something of that matter. Whats strange, I have my final audio out coming OUT of my Z-Link B channel 1!!!! Which is the second bus channel 1 on the A16 ultra (then to headphones).
What is the problem. Someoen tell me how to fix this.
THanks,

shutdown and disconnect main power cord, then reboot.
I don't have that board, but your description reads like whatever you did before remained active - similiar to a crashed SFP that doesn't respond anymore but keeps playing.
cheers, Tom

exchange 'SFP' by 'Cubase(5)' because that's how it is with me (when the song grows)

Oh man.. Ok.. i hooked up both the power cables.. no difference.
Basically, This is how it is
it says "PROBLEM: No DSP on Z-Link Plate B source found. Check installation" or somethin..
Ok... but, the B-Destination works FINE! I use it for my final output to speakers... No error on loading the hardware-i/o driver for the output either.
BOTH Z-link A source and dest work fine..
Hmmmmmmmmm...
(what are those power cables for anyway?_ I have them both hooked up.. )
HELP!

source and destination are different items

Afaik ZLink can supply power to a Luna box via the firewire cable.
If the A16U is supplied by a wallwart you don't need the internal powercable.
Since I don't have the unit myself don't take this for granted.
good luck, Tom

Yeah, I saw that about the external Power Supply.. The A16 has one, so I've disconnceted the card power bizness..
I've gotten the following advice "remove and re attach the Z-Link plate... THere might be a faulty connection"
I'm going to do that today and see what comes of it.

Well,
the re-attachment of the Z-link plate did not change the issue. I wrote down the PROBLEM message this time, so I can directly quote it. It says:
"PROBLEM: Can't find DSP file Z-Link B Source - Please Check installation."
I've reinstalled SFP and did not change anything either. Someone please help!!!
Thanks,

is the file there in the dsp folder? if it isn't just move it over manually from the install files. if it is there, is it marked read only in the properties dialog? if marked read only, uncheck that parameter.

Garyb,
Thats the same advice i got last night on #scope in chat... Today when i stop by my studio setup, I'll give that a try... It sounds like that will fix it. We'll see.. Lets pray!
