I have a ASUS P4P800 deluxe MoBo.
2 GB of RAM
Intel P4 2,6 GHz
I tryed a lot:
Standart Pc Mode
No IRQ Sharing at all
Set Option for Background devices
PCI Latenz =32
AGP Aperture = 128
I tryed a file out of this forum which helps to run sfp in lower priority mode
If any one could help me it would be great
because I own aPulsar Card for over 2 years and like it but it never worked correctly yet.
I still believe it's my lack of knowledge and a big portion of bad bad luck!

Have you tried setting higher latency in SFP? Does that fix it?

What's your videocard?

SFP>set>global>screen mode
choose STANDARD, not CLASSIC

Thanx for your trys but my screen is set in Standart mode and yes I tried all different Buffersizes (I switched in cset.ini = I know!!!) but I still got these dropouts.
I'm using Cubase SX 3.01 in XTC Mode that's the only way I want to use it.
I can 100% say it has something to do with AGP or my Radeon Graphic card.
The dropouts appear when I open/close a window or when my Sequencer flips the screen to the further part of the song.
Only graphic Interaction causes --> No Sound for half a Second. No hang ups, no Alert messages, nothing but a short crazy-making nerve-breaking moment of painful silence...
Help me!!!

XTC mode explains a lot :> You may want to consider normal SFP mode if Gonzoft's guide doesn't fix your problems. IMHO CW should have never promoted XTC mode.

yes, but i do use it sometimes and it does work for me. are you using 32bit graphics? do you have the latest driver? you might try reinstalling the graphics driver.

Ok, The only hope I have is that vna solution helps. (it looks good to me) I try it.
All other tips are nice but I tryed before.
I want to get in the topic (PCI Latency and SiSoftSandra/PowerStrip) and will write later if it was the right way to get it flowing.

I'm so disappointed by my whole computer and me.
I try so hard search and tweak on and on and nothing helps!
I set the latency by the help of Power Strip but it didn't help. I'm not sure if I'm doing wrong or if it just can't work.
Don't know what to do know.
Perhaps getting a different Soundcard?!

The tool is nice thank you but it dosen't help me.
Even if I set my Radeon Latenzy from 255 to 96 it drops out as well.
Tomorrow I call Creamware (got to pay!!!!!)
and I dare betting they cannot help me, but what else can I do?

I tryed different drivers with no results.
My studio computer is no Internet Computer so I disabled all useless autoruns.
But I don't understand exactly what you wrote in your last post.
famous msconfig?

msconfig - go to start - run and type there msconfig, then go to startup and disable all stuff there, i personally have just sfp enable, for loading sfp project at startup

you can also disable a lot of services too, so if you don't have internet running even more,

but i'm not sure, if this is cause of your problems,
first check at msconfig what's loading there when windows starts,

all of the computers i set up seem to work 100% immediately. if it's not working reliably and you have good parts, the setup and install must be done poorly. you shouldn't need any extrodinary measures to have a working system. all these other progs should be doing is wringing the last 5% of performance out of your system....

What are my bad parts? New Mobo? New Graphic?
I'm in Contakt with the new support service from Creamware (wrote an email) and got an answer!
But I wait for their 2nd answer maybe this helps me out of my problem!

I was going to ask "what's your video card" but at0m|c beat me to it.

The reason was that your system is pretty much identical to mine, with the exception that you haave twice the RAM (but that's unlikely to be relevant).

BTW, which OS are you running? If you're running XP, then it might make more sense to install as ACPI, not "Standard PC".

To be honest, I have no idea! I've never been interested in XTC mode at all as you gain nothing but lose all of SFP's flexible routing, its mixers etc. Like many users here, I use Cubase to buss out the audio into SFP, then do the "real work" there. People do seem to have particular problems with XTC mode too.

I also use Cubase for some synths (Battery, Ravity S & Crystal mostly) and my reverb (Anwida DX) as I have not found suitable equivalent devices for Scope.

Are you able to e.g. borrow a friend's video card for a day? It might be worth trying one out to see if it makes any difference.

By the way, do you get crackles when both Cubase and Scope are the top window, or just one of them..?

Now I got to be honest.
I never tryed the real scope project because I don't want to work with it.
It is too disturbing and takes to much time and is not as comfortable to work on two levels (scope and Cubase).
The last thing is that I don't need the super open architecture that's just confusing for me.
I never saw a Creamware user working as fast as I do on a normal ASIO Mixing-Setup.
Maybe because I would be faster on a scope project as well, hihihi.
No, no more fun.
I have no practice in working with scope but I'M fast in Cubase that's why I want to use XTC Mode and nothing else.
Or you have such a good reason that makes me think of a new workflow.


BTW the new CW support helped me very much they are really nice.
I didn't want to phone them because it is so expensive. Therefore I sent them a email and got immediate response.
Then it became a little Internet conversation and after 4 or 5 emails they call me!!!!!!!! Just cool because I have my CW-Card for over 2 Years.
