This problem is with my LUNA I/O Box.

I discovered today when i plugged my bass that i only hear sound from inputs:
2,4,5,8.
Iv'e tried rebooting, reinstalling, swaping all the cables i normaly use for new ones but nothing works. I've even tried other musical gear like my vinyl player mixers cd-players.....no sound on channels 1,3,6,7

The only cable i haven't been able to swap is the Firewire cable. Actually i don't have a clue to what kind of calbe i need. Is this cable speciall in some kind of way??? Do i need to order one from CW or could i just buy any firewire cable??

Also i can se the "activity" diods blinking like freaks on ALL the channels on the box when feeding sound to them, but still no activity in SCOPE in neither sound or when i connect the outputs to level meters etc. on channels: 1,3,6,7.

I've used my DAW together with this box many times before and never ever had any problemsd with it. The last time all the channels where working was about 1/2 year ago when i recorded drums for a band. Since then i've only used channel 8 for recording song. Today i jacked up my base to channel 7 and the rest of the story you know.

Anybody else had this problem? I bought this box when it was still expensive...actually i had to eat cheap disguisting noodles for a month to afford it =) Im somewhat nervous here, and im not amused at all.

EDIT

Hmmmm very interesting. Just now i lost channel 8. It was working until 2 minutes ago when i right clicked on my LUNA SOURCE and selected disconnect. Then i connected channel eight to my mixer and.....NO SOUND!!!

What the h*ll is going on?!?
*hmmm wait*

Now there is no sound from ANY channel.
Im getting very confused here.

EDIT
----
.....eh....now i only have sound on ch 7 ?!?!?!?!?!!? And this after loading a project that i normaly are using ch 8 in.

Im sooo damned sick of this. This has to be software related!!!!

Screw this....i think i'll hook up with my PS2 and play some San Andreas.....yes.....mabye some "pimpin" "murdering" and "lootin'" will make everything go okay...

could be a bad cable...it is a standard firewire cable.

I've seen this with an A16U also, it was a bad firewire cable...

If it's not the cable, i also have a luna io box, and i had trouble (like yours) a bit with it when i had my old computer with a bad power supply. A possibility...

Hm powersupply you mention... makes me think: did you connect a power cable to the connector on the IO daughterboard? You know, the one that has same connector as Floppy drives?

My Luna2496 works as good with as without the power cable, but one never knows (and it's for free;)

No cable connected to the floppy power connector here...

The problems went away the second a put the new powersupply in the PC.
