DRUMMER: "I want my drums to sound like cannons firing"
ME "Are you sure that would be appropriate for a traditional country song?"
DRUMMER "Hmmm, OK maybe more like gunshots".

A band that I played keys in and set up P.A. for had a drummer that was always requesting a 'cannons firing' sound from the snare. He was steadfast in his belief that his drum heads were special ones that never needed to be replaced, ever. (Bet you can guess how wonderful they sounded!)
My favorite comment from that band was 'I don't know how that can possibly be feedback'. This was in response to feedback that was definitely occuring. I'm like, hang on, I'll fix the feedback problem right away, and then we can discuss whether or not it could have been feedback.

Band and crew guy in controll room, at the back of the sound engineer who plays back the fresh takes:
Drummer: 'more drums'
Guitarist: 'more guitar'
Singer: 'more voice'
Key player: 'more keys'
Bass player: 'more bass'
Crew guy: 'more coke'

No, this didn't happen _right after_ one of our songs.
