Well, I've finally done it - gone and bought myself a Pulsar2 card. It's new but slightly old (came with v3.0 software), hence cheap

.
Problem is I'd like to check it's working OK, but I can't get any version of Pulsar going. I've tried to register on Creamware's site but I just get some sort of server error (in German) when trying to create a login. So I can't get my keys for v3.1c or v4.
So I thought I'd try v3.0 for now. I've entered the 4 keys on installation (for Pulsar, STS3000, Mod2 and ProPack). But when I reboot and actually start Pulsar it asks me for a further activtion code, or software serial number.
Can anyone remember back this far and tell me where I can find this code?
Couldn't find anything about it on PlanetZ. Surely I should be able to get something up and running without having to contact CW?
I have emailed CW, but given it's a weekend, it could be a while before I get a reply, plus I'm impatient to try out my new Pulsar

I bought my P1 5 years ago. BAck then there was keys on a sticker at the buttom of page 3 I think. I hope you will like your P2. It is a nice card. PlanetZ is deffintely the place to hang around for valueable info on your new card

if the former owner gave you the manual, the keys are inside the cover. if he didn't, maybe he can give you his login and you can just change the contact info in his account and get the keys there.

Sorry, I should have made it clear - it's a brand 'new' card - not been used or registered (just old stock). I have the stickers inside the front cover of the manual - 4 of them. I entered these when installing the software and it seemed to accept them OK.
It's when I click on 'Launch Pulsar' that I get asked for a 'software serial number' or an 'activation key'. I've tried all the numbers I have but none work.
Any ideas? Other than waiting for CW to reply

the server has been a little flaky lately. try to register again. and then again is you need to. if after a day or so it's still not working, then write a short but detailed description of your problem to Ralf. he's a good guy and i'm sure he'll help.
support@cw.de should work. it would help if we new what the error nessage was. then someone could verify if it's a problem that requires cw's attention or if you just missed a step.
still, whatever website problems might exist, the key for your card and software IS on the page of keys and all those keys need to be entered. if you don't/can't register, then they must be entered by hand. if you register, then you can download a keyfile called "all keys" which can be imported on install, making things a lot easier. the names of some of the keys and the names of some of the locks don't quite match perfectly.....

Hi,
I followed the links from CW's home page to: Support - Registration - CreamWare Hardware - Register new login.
Or from here:
http://195.243.123.108/index.asp?shop20 ... .asp?LG=US
I get the following error message when I enter login details:
Registration failed: 006~ASP 0177~Server.CreateObject-Fehler~Der RPC-Server ist nicht verfügbar. (Error 1722)
Which I believe means that the 'server is not available'.
Regarding the keys - I'm quite happy to enter them by hand. On Launching Pulsar I get a window entitled 'Registration of Creamware Pulsar'.
There'a a Hardware Serial No. box which has my card serial number in, a Software Serial No. box which is empty, a Request String box with a code that I can aparently email off to CW and an Activation Key box which is empty. I've tried entering each key I have into the Activation Key box and also the Software Serial No. box but whatever I try I always get the same message: 'Invalid Key for CreamWare Pulsar!'
Any idea what I'm doing wrong?

the registration is a 2-tier process.
You start part one by sending the stuff that's printed in your manual (or whereever) - the server processes this input and initiates part two by sending you another set of keys (based on the original ones) back.
This process currently fails due to reported server problems.
You cannot complete part two by entering the newly generated keys into the software, because those just don't arrive due to server hickup.
sorry for no better news, tom

OK, thanks.
Looks like I'll just have to wait for CW to respond to my email...

now wait, the keys CAN be entered by hand. they are entered WHEN the software is installed. the request string is needed when registering new devices that you don't have a key for. you don't need the internet for that. if you have already installed the software without entering the keys you should start over fresh.
as to the server problem, just try it again on monday. they'll certainly reboot it again.

Registration server is back up now - Got my keys

and now have v4 installed and running with no problems
Was wondering if I can still get the '50% off a plugin' offer from the Creamware shop - it appeared immediately after I activated SCOPE v4 but not when I've logged in again since. Will have to have a play around with things.
Thanks,
drs2k.

if you activate 4.0 again(paste the email string again) it will activate the 50% off mode again...

OK cool - will try that.
One other thing I'm curious about - should I have got the full set of SCOPE Project devices when I registered - or just the set that came with the card when it was originally manufactured (this seems to be what I have).
It's an 'old' card in the sense that it was manufactured a few years ago (2001 I think), but new in the sense that it's only just been purchased. Any idea?
Not particularly bothered either way - just that a half price ModIII might be in order though

You'll only get the set that came with the card originally (plus anything you've purchased since).
