Check the "Emulated Ports" problem if you have Cubase, on Cubase Forums. There is a way to fix it moving a file from a certain Cubase inner folder to the Cubase main folder itself. It's documented...

A.f.a.i.r. the Emulated ports is something I've seen only in XP.

"emulated" ports are a cubase invention, the way that the program sees direct music ports.

I had this same problem. Check which midi in you are using in cubase. In my setup, if I was using the wrong midi in it recorded double notes. Only use the midi in of the actual keyboard you are using.

NOT ALL THE SELECTED DEVICES IN THE CURENT CONFIGURATION WERE SUCCESSFULLY STATED WITH THEIR SELECTED OPTIONS......
IF THIS CARD IS CURENTLY CONFIGURED TO ACCEPT A DIGITAL SIGNAL IS PRESENT,PLEASE EITHER RECONFIGURE THE CARD TO USE AN INTERNAL CLOCK OR APPLY A DIGITAL SIGNAL,OR IF POSSIBLE SWITCH THIS PORT TO ACCEPT AN ANALOG INPUT.
this is what i got from testing the asio setings in cubase.is there any idea about this?this happens when im using win XP
thanx to you all.

meaningless. the asio test only works for mme(wave) drivers. it is not appropriate to your set up....

Hi garyb, installationsfrom scratch is surely not the issue,i guess win XP needs particular attension on music production sysems.....
if i open music sx.2.2 request that creamwarecubase midi output not connected ,& if i intergrate midi file & CW synth.there is sync problem.WHAT MUST BE THE SETTINGS?
thanx

hmmm...
i'm really not sure what your problem is as i can't see what you're doing. i'd be willing to look at screenshots of your projects and error messages, but the problems you are describing are ones that i have never seen......
i do very little tweaking in xp and it is very solid for me on a number of computers...

I have had this kinda problem (getting all recorded midi on one note, or with latecny, or very odd quantize) under all versions of XP Pro (i.e no service pack, SP1 and SP2) using my Midiman midisport 4x4.
It have happened with other midigear as well.

But then I bought a M-Audio Evolution MK-449C USB, and the problem disappeared!

My problem with doubled notes was when I was using "all midi inputs". Selecting just the midi in of the intrument i am using solves the problem.

maybe a wrong power supply used on your midi controller?
