Hello,

I use 2 machines for making music. One is a laptop where I use a Tascam US-122 as my audio/Midi interface. Now when i want to record using effects plug ins no problem. I can use Effects in real time.
But in my other PC using Pulsar, when I use effects, I get a feedback kind of problem where the effect sort of folds in on itself (if that makes sense). What am I doing wrong?
While I am here, I also have another question. I record in 24 bit on my laptop, but to do that in Pulsar do my Asio, ADAT modules have to be 24 bit, or is 24 bit recording dictated by my software apps like Logic/Cubase.

Check your routing and cut the loop. Check monitoring settings on your laptop, if that soundcard has only stereo output don't feed the audio back and mix/monitor from SFP...

Thanks for your reply Atomic. But, can you be more specific? What should the routing be on my Pulsar to avoid the feedback problem?

Sure... but please explain the exact routing and monitoring that you have now. 'Sending to Pulsar' is a bit general, many things can happen there. How do you monitor, do you send stuff back to the laptop or do you listen from SFP? What are the monitoring (read 'thru-put') rules in your sequencer for that channel? Etc. etc...

However, I think you have misunderstood me. I don't use my laptop to listen to what happens in Pulsar. The reason I mentioned my laptop was to explain that I can use the plug ins in real time with no problem. The problem lies with my desktop PC when I want to use plug ins.
I have to have the mixer slider all the way down to zero or the signal feeds back on itself. So, in actual fact it doesn't matter whether I am running plug ins or not (though I would like to). Basically, the signal on my PC desktop(which uses Pulsar as my soundcard) feeds back on itself.
I hope I have made it clearer.
I can perhaps post a picture of my Pulsar project to give you a clearer idea. Though I will have to do it a bit later as I have to go to a New Year Party.
