I wonder how long it takes from a release like this until there is an actual product emplyoing it? Would it be a year? Two years?

Very interesting..., I think if CW keeps up with these improvements on DSP desing.. we'll get to see AMAZING hardware power on future implementations of "Scope like" cards.
I wonder how long would it take to port the code from Scope to the new DSPs. I think Analog Devices is known for preserving some level of backward compatibility, I hope that be the case.

well, considering its price and its processing abilities, and its "sample" date, i very much predict this as the new Scope sharcs. its an un-educated guess, but mark my words, if these sharcs are backward compatible ( or makes emulation easy) this is the future guys

you know...... even if the whole Scope thing would not be "portable" to new DSP's I think I'll keep them with me.. I'd use my cards as long as they "keep breathing".

Edited:
I just saw the specs on ADI website and those are code compatible with our DSP's..., so I think we'll see a good future for our Scope platform.., if CW wants to of course.

sorry, but I see it right in the opposite direction.
Analog HAS DSP developement tools and a big audio lib as well. Those chips mentioned above are perfect for embedded applications (Rom on chip !), so CWA may get some unappreciated competition...
On the other hand a 19" Solaris would be something to have
I agree that CWA has to react quickly.

cheers, Tom

It's almost already too late...

They have until january, at best, march to have something new, cuz' competition WILL...

Even if we all know cw is by far the best sounding platform, they'll (the competition) also brag exactly this.
