Hello all again

I wanna buy a new PC for Pulsar + SRB
i found:
1) mother board - GA-8IPE1000G
2) CPU - intel P4 3.2Ghz 1Mb 800fsb box
3) memory - DDR 512(x2) 3200 PC400 GEIL with cooling

Is that good hardware for a Pulsar?
Or maybe i will buy some ASUS or ABIT boards?

Please tell me what you think about this.

Thank you!

There's a lot in the "Tech Talk" section about which PC to use. My motherboard is an ASUS A7N8X, and my computer has been completely reliable. Out of twelve or so pieces of electronic music equipment I own, the only thing that's picky at all, is my Scope card. ( Let's see, maybe it's the key files are corrupt, it's dirty, I touched the gold with my fingers, so just throw it out, the card isn't seated right, it's an interrupt conflict, it's Service Pack 2, try another slot, disable ACPI, disable USB, I'm not holding my mouth right, ....)
So I'm looking at the Tech Talk section for the most common setup that's clamed to be working.
I could just buy a trombone...

intel motherboards are the most stable in my experience. they always work, but don't allow overclocking. most pcs work fine but the scope system is very complex and deep, so it's a matter of optimum performance. the intel d865perl(no extras just the basic model) is cheap and a slam dunk. the rest of your stuff should be fine. the trick is to start fresh and follow directions.....

Now that you've said that, i'll definitely be upgrading to 1 of those

Pete, get a trombone

I've got one, cheap yamaha student model for $200 Australian (bugger all), and it rips the bag

Besides, it's a rare thing, in that it's an acoustic instrument that can change volume up or down while pitchbending

edit: i know the bowed instruments can do this, but it's not as funny
