I haven't been using my DAW much last year, but now when I get back to the thing, I run into problems and I feel like a fool who don't know **** about it...

I have SFP4 installed, and I use two Pulsar II cards with it.

It seems my Startup project hangs VERY often (more than half the times I boot the machine). When this happens, no sounddriver is loaded and the systray SFP Menu proggie hangs too (can pop it open but can't select show/exit).

I have to kill the running SFP process or the menu proggie to be able to load SFP up.

People say that usually when this happens, there is some mystical things with the startup project, and that SFP is "trying to show a dialog" (that I can't see since it's starts up "hidden"). I see no such popup/dialog when loading any of my project files (when running SFP in "show"-mode).

I had problems with this at times with SFP3 as well, but now it's waaaay to frequent.

Help please !

If that pop-up error would appear hidden, it would hang on every boot, or more exactly, on every start of SFP in tray mode. You can easily check that by opening C:SFPAppSFPAppStartProject.pro in SFP. (your file path may be different). If there'd be an error message, you can solve the problem and save the project.

Hey at0mic, thanks for the fast response.

No, I never see any error messages when opening the Startupproject. So maybe this is not the "usual" hang problem?

I have a Yamaha 02R96 connecting to the pulsars with both adat opt and spdif coax. The problem seems to occur both when using SFP as slave or master for clock.

Hmm, maybe I've found the reason...

I the windows registry, SFP started with the -s parameter (telling it to be hidden?) so I tried removing this and restart PC.

Now - the first time I boot - I get a SFP dialog asking for registration keys !?! (By the way, the dialog does NOT say what the key is for... thankyouverymuch)

Is this about SFP4 ? I imported the last "allkeys" file I downloaded form CW and it seems to accept that.

And, why on earth couldn't I get that dialog when launching SFP manually after killing the process... ?!?

It's never easy, now is it...

Anyone know more of this ??
