Can anyone confirm if this is a bug or normal operating behavior:
When I input a mono audio signal into one of the 4896 mixer channels, both left and right meters for that channel show activity.
This is different behavior than the 2448 version mixer which only shows acitvity on the left (or right) meter for that particular channel.
Or do I not have something configured properly?
PS: all channels set to mono.

for the record... i get the same behaviour. i just quickly tried it, without the mixer outs to my monitors, so i can't comment on sound quality. but i suspect it has no influence, and is just a bit of inconsistent behaviour (like, in the STM1632, when you switch to mono, the right meter disappears. in the 'channel' module or STM2448 you get to keep both meters, but indeed only the left is active.)
nothing to worry, me thinks.

Set the metering to post fader.

Umm - ok well it wasn't a show stopper.
However... this is:
I can't seem to get the AUX channels to work. At all. I tried routing MasterVerb through the AUX send/returns and I don't get any indication of activity. Nada. Works fine in the 2448 version mixer. It's not like I don't know what I'm doing here (well, maybe I don't
Again, am I doing something wrong? Any suggestions?

Make sure the "pre level" on each aux is set to max. You can find it in the channel strip for the aux channel, at the top right.
It drives me nuts. I always forget to turn it up!

Make sure you turn the aux on over on the channel strip window (the window with the master fader where you adjust compression eq etc. the aux "on" buttons are to the top right of the master fader).

Thanks to you problem solved! Actually did read the manual but somehow missed that little tidbit about the green buttons.
And thanks to the rest of you for guidance as well. Mucho appreciated.
