Can't make any guarantees yet but I will certainly try to make it over from the island to catch the show!

I've never heard of BLIM before... Is it someone's warehouse, or is it a new club, or has it always been there and I'm just clueless?

Cheers,

Johann

BLIM is a gallery/ workspace near the new gate to China town on Pender. It is the penthouse to an office building, I've seen a few shows there and it makes for a good vibe. Nothing grungey/ warehouse-ish about it, but it is fairly 'underground', in a sixth-story kinda way...

hope to see you guys there!

hi again! just a reminder to please come out to our show this Saturday, it should be lots of fun. also, since my first posting about the show, spark has become Laptop Battle champion of North America (http://www.laptopbattle.org/ ), so come check out the man in action (and me and pocka too!).

I'll be there. Wavelength + Rod (if you're able to make it) keep an eye out for a freaky looking tall hairy dude with four eyes. (EDIT: I just realized that this describes about half the people in Vancouver. Oh well, keep an eye out anyway.)

I gotta warn you I'll most likely be fashionably late. I can never help myself. I would be late to my own funeral if given the opportunity.

Break a leg Wavelength + will see you tomorrow night. I'm looking forward to it!

Johann

I had a great time too! BLIM's a cool + interesting place, like something out of a Kafka novel. Subtractive Lad definitely stole the show in my books. I know I'm not the only one who thought so, too.

Cheers & great gig Stephen,

Johann

P.S. What's in the giant vault on floor "M"?

thanks! yeah, i also stopped accidentally @ floor "M" and thought it looked pretty surreal and mysterious...

Blim is great because it is like a blank canvas that you can really play around with.

cheers,

Stephen

PS: it was cool meeting a planetzer in the flesh! (and such a nice one  )

PPS: did you also meet John Bowen? he was there too!

Nice! No, I'm afraid the only people I met were: a couple of Spark fans who didn't enjoy getting their arses whupped at ping pong  and even my phonetics have probably been a bit altered by time and alcohol...) Shaw Lin, formerly of CreamWare. I ran into him in the bathroom on floor 5. He's a great guy, and I wouldn't have broken through the throng of admirers to say "hi" if it hadn't been for him.

I certainly would have liked to meet John too, is he a 'Couverite as well?!? Geez I didn't know there were so many of you!

Cheers Stephen,

Johann

oh, you mean Shahin! he's a good friend of mine and is currently deep into 'DSD' surround recording, btw, using Merging's Pyramix system... pretty cool stuff.

John actually came up from the States to see my show -- pretty nice, eh?

I can't tell you how stupid I feel for having missed this show.

Damn!

I "accidentally" drank a bit too much in the afternoon and there was no way driving into Vancouver was a good idea. To bad I didn't know Johann was going a bit earlier, I could have hooked up with him for a ride, he drove right past where I live in on the way from the ferry.

Glad it went well, I absolutely promise that I will not miss the next one.

Ah, Shahin! I'd be curious to hear his work too. I googled this "DSD" thing and got this. Sounds intriguing -- i.e. a lot of intrigue involved...

Rod, I actually passed your area on the bus at about 12:30pm Saturday, and spent the afternoon drinking and playing street hockey in east Van. So I probably wouldn't have been able to pick you up. But in any case, one of these days we should all have a Vancouver-area Planet Z conference. You know, like those European guys do all the time.

Cheers,

Johann
