VOCODER PRO 44 bands !
The voice on planet rock was not a vocoder. It was the Lexicon PCM42.On 2004-08-25 16:34, R0zzer wrote:

Can you tell me, the 'hi-fi' presets are optimised for what?
Also, what kind of synth sound is it best to use as a carrier, to obtain a classic deep vocoded voice sound (think Planet Rock, or any early 80s electro

and looking at http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... forum=30&1 it seems as if someone's picked this request up. Cool!On 2004-08-29 16:04, bob4u wrote:

Yes, that's true.
Now I'm working on two NEW Vocoder Pro versions not only with matrix routing but even more powerful and clear!
I also have to decide how to share this work: I allowed free downloads asking for a free or even ridicolous donation: I've got more than 260 downloads and 0 (ZERO) donations... :-/
It seems this philosophy doesn't work, even if I consider all posted compliments as "virtual" donations.
On the other side there are costs (matrix module, bandwidth)...
Have you ever ideas/suggestions for me?
Bob

For all those who want to support publishing of the new Vocoder Pro versions I set a new donation link that doesn't require Paypal account/real private info.
With more than 300 downloads I received 0 donations... hope this was the only reason... !!

Perhaps the lack of donation has something to do with people not being used to paying for a modular patch.
I don't remember anyone asking for money for this before, and people may find this unusual for a while.
Many people post their hard work here, in an atmosphere of sharing and spreading knowledge.
I'm sure this is a quality patch, with many hours hard work put in, but with all the other vocoders around (however inferior) i don't think it can be a real money-spinner.
Anyway, i must download it to see what you've been up to!

Thank you Wayne for your opinion, I fully understand your point of view and I love the good spirit of patches sharing.
That's why I allowed absolutely free downloads and at the moment it still remains for old patches.
In addition I'd say:
- I did special work only to make patches easier to use by people different than me... but probably lot of people here do it;
- really a lot of work was involved on balancing presets for high quality of filters response
- I really hoped that someone had the strange idea to send an even ridicolous amount, just to say "I'm a fool, I support your costs"
- 300+ COMPLETE downloads... getting very few comments, just say "wow, I like it!" or "booo..."
I'm going to have new powerful patches, using a PAID customized module. The risult of "0 donations" for me means a choice: force donation before getting them (I can do it, but I wouldn't) or not publish them at all. In the meantime maybe someone will give me different opinions/ideas, hope so!
Ciao

Hi Bob,
Early next year I'm putting a new computer together so that I can use my Scope stuff again.
Once I've done that I'll download this and have a look.
If I can work out how to use it easily enough and like the presets I'll be happy to give you a donation.
I always wanted a big mother vocoder. I don't really use them much - but I might.

I looked at home last night, thinking I'd have the patches, but I couldn't find them.Cowboy wrote:Does someone have this available for download? I'd love to give it a try, since I just ordered Modular III and am really interesed in vocoders!
I went to the link, but there doesn't seem to be any download anymore.
Help!
(and thanks!)

So I thought, I wonder if the Internet Archive (www.archive.org) has at least got anything on the site that these were originally on. Amazingly, not only does it have the old pages for the site, but it also has the patches (although not the presets, unfortunately) still available for download.
go here:
http://web.archive.org/web/200504141635 ... .ayry.org/
to download the patches.
Anyone got the presets?
Ben
Re: VOCODER PRO 44 bands !
I'm doing a demo of Xite on March 11. I would love to use this superb patch as part of the demo. Would anyone have the preset file handy?

Re: VOCODER PRO 44 bands !
Thank you, loaded up fine, takes up 80% of one DSP.
The 2nd part of the demo will be with headphones, so this is great.
