Hi everybody,
my A16 ultra suddendly died and left for Creamware in Germany, so i had to use the "old" anlog dest of my pulsar 2 card and
i have experienced the following problem :
in my project i've loaded the "asio2-16 source 64" module and i've connected it to the "analog dest" and hitted play on my sequencer (vst or logic, even recycle) , well, if choose to have only 2 channels in the asio source module (a simple stereo out) everything it's ok , the sound is cristal and clear. If i choose more then 2 (4,6,8..) the sound coming out from the first 2 changes completely and i loose a lot of high frequencies !!! If i roll back to 2 everything goes normal again.
Is it a bug? A Mac Bug?
In this situation it's impossible to mix my productions using pulsar's mixer as ,obvoiusly, i can't split all the tracks coming from the sequencer .
My specs are :
Mac dual 1ghz quicksilver
Mac os 9.2.2
nvidia geforce4 mx 64 mb
1.5 gig ram
creamware pulsar 2 sound card (soft :s.f.p. 3.1c).
I hope to have explained myself clear enough
Thanks for help

Not sure that you've explained that properly, you say you've connected the ASIO Source to Analogue Dest, do you mean ASIO Dest>Pulsar Mixer>Analog Dest? If so then the first two ASIO Sources are always (in VST anyway) the Master (summed) output of VST, whilst 3 onwards are the individual bussed outs. Just trying to clarify what you're doing.

asio source (vst master out) -> analog dest (speakers..)
if i want to use more outs from vst( and route them to a pulsar mixer) i open the asio source module and increase the number of sources (4,6...) when i do this the sound from cubase master out changes

First off your routing seems odd. If you're mixing in Pulsar then Pulsar Master mix out needs to go to the Analogue Dest to monitor your mix, using VST to Buss via the ASIO Sources to the Pulsar mixer. This is the way i work and is by far the easiest. ASIO 1&2 are always the VST Master mix out, not a direct Bussed audio track.

Try opening your ASIO Source to 8 (or how ever many tracks you want), route outputs 3 to 8 directly into Pulsar mixer, leave 1 and 2 disconnected. Route Pulsar main mix out to Analogue Dest. In VST send you audio using busses 3 to 8 and see if that sounds OK. I rarely connect 1&2 cos it can confuse the issue.

Not sure i may have completely missed your point.

Hi arkadin,
we are speaking the same language  only with differnt words
what i mean is that basically i connect asio to analog dest , if i want a mixer a just put it in beteween the 2 modules asio>mixer>analog dest.
With or without a mixer , what i experience is that the audio coming out from asio 1&2 (which you seem to leave disconnected in you config)doesn't sound the same if i choose to have more outputs than 2( like you said 8 for instance)
that's all.
when my A16 was working i didn't use analog dest but adat dest .....

Hi Lore, so you're back here

But, anyway, it looks like a bug. I have to try to reproduce your problem. It looks like a phasing problem...
