I have 2 luna 2 boards connected with a stdm cable. Works fine for 10 or 15 minutes without no problem then computer shuts down out of no where. Has done it several times now. I never have this problem doing anything else. I only have this problem when I make music and never had the problem with only 1 board installed. I am using a Soyo KT600 Dragon Ultra mobo with 1gb of ddr ram. The cards are installed in pci slot 2 and 3.
Please help if you can,

reads like overheating - not the Lunas, your CPU.
Try it with the case open - does the crash interval change ?
cheers, tom

I have tried it before......but no luck there. The thing is....it only does it when runing the SFP environment. Especially when using modular 2 or other synths. I could leave it running for a few days(as I have) doing all sorts of other things and it stays on. Is it possible that the cards over heat?

yes.
depending on your case, it could be more or less likely.
via chipsets are very crappy and i have little faith in most mobos that use them....
*edit*
that might be a little harsh...even with the "dreaded" via chipset, things should still work. you ARE working the pci bus fairly heavily and in a way that no game ever would. you might show up motherboard shortcomings that would be hidden in most every other use, using your pci cards.

Not harsh at all. I do agree with you on the via chipsets. I got that board on ebay and first time using my luna 2 with a via chipset. I knew better when I got that motherboard but was low on cash at the time. My friend gave me his luna 2 for some work I did for him. Like I said before .....My first one worked fine. When I received the second, I was hopeing that it would still work. Never thought about how much of a load it could put on the pci bus.

Can you recommend a program that does that?

Usually you can run a memory test from your BIOS (hit delete or F1 during bootup), though it depends on the BIOS.
There are other folks here who are much wiser at this PC voodoo stuff than me, so take my advice with a grain of salt!

The gurus may know of some memory testing utilities though...

As already mentioned it mostly sounds like a heating problem (or heatsensor problem).
But if it's something else like memory, I really recommend The ultimate Boot CD (UBCD).
It has all the check programs necessary to check the components of your PC, and it's all on a bootable CD.
Download ISO from:
http://ubcd.sourceforge.net/
Worth checking hardware first, before grabbing that screwdriver!
