Due to a harddrive crash I had to reinstall windows and everything else on a backup harddrive (until I get a new one), but when I try to start the Scope 4 setup windows tells me:
installer.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.
Anyone had this before? Any suggestions? I think I've done all the required basic updates and tweaks.

Antivirus software?
Spyware watcher (I remember there was an issue with ad-aware or similar which found by mistake a spyware software in Pulsar modules)?
Did the installer work previously?

I reinstalled windows (again) and now the installer works but I can't import my keys!
"cannot open registry file"
GRRRRRR!!! I'm gonna try and install 3.1c instead.

Look in your Application Event Log (if you have Win 2000/XP) and see if anything was logged.
Start Dr. Watson and see if it traps the bug, maybe you'll get more details. It's really hard to do anything without knowing where to look first.

suddenly it works again. Pretty strange. I'll see if I can figure out what caused it...

Hi,
i believe this is the workaround of the problem....i think is related to a bug in the installer.
Just create in advance the folder where you like to install the soft (ie "C:scope"). At this point you can launch setup, choose the folder you created and import keys from file.
It works.

I don't Know if you noticed, but in the the creamware installation paths "c:scope" in the dos format is "c:/scope" in the creamware format.
