I'm quite surprised by how few people list their location.

It's nice to know what country someone is in when trying to reply to a post, just to know if they are even awake or not...

Just something that struck me as odd.

Also I think some of the Europeans have had "Planet Z beer nights". It'd be fun to do the same thing over here in the wild wild west.

In any case where's everyone from?

Brisbane (after 30 years in Sydney). I have this horrible feeling that winter is already over and it's starting to get hot again

That would be along drive just for some beer, but isn't that what we Canadians are known for? Anything for beer...

I thought your tag says Montreal?

Right, Montreal. The wild canadian west is Alberta as far as I'm concerned. Saskatchewan is a little too tame to qualify as "wild".

Anything for beer is quite correct, but I don't think us Canadians can beat the Belgians in that respect
(right, at0mic?)

Working shifts, I'm more often in sync with US than EU times.

I wonder... Do you guys out west have kickass beer like "La fin du Monde". That one has 9.1% alcohol. It's brewed by Unibroue who just got bought by Sleeman.

yes, we produce, others drink... especially the czechs, germans and danes ( ) they are the top three beer drinkers in the world!

Yup, Fin Du Monde is quite good. Seems to me they have another one too, can't remember offhand the name. "Diablo" maybe? But if they're being bought by Sleeman's they'll die a watery death...

BTW Paul, I used to live in Waterloo + thought that London, Ontario was the "wild, wild west"!

I'm no connoisseur but I do love the Belgian Chimay Bleu beer. Sweet stuff! I do, however, think I must have some Czech, German and Danish blood...

OK so now we know where y'all are from. But since the topic has migrated -- what's your favourite local beer?

B.C. has a lot of good lagers made by local microbreweries. I'll give my vote to Hermann's Dark Lager.

What are your favourite local brews? The more obscure, the better!

Cheers,

Johann
