Hello everyone. I get this strange Occasional error when using Sonar 2.0 XL and the scope software 3.1C, under WinXp. The message says the following:

DRIVER_CORRUPTED_MMPOOL

DISABLE BIOS MEMORY

OPTIONS- (CACHING, SHADOWING)

STOP ERROR

0x00000000, 2x00000000, 1x00000000, 80536D8A

I have no idea what this error means. I've been thinking about upgrading to the latest version of Sonar, becuase I think that my current version may have problmes communicating with the creamware software drivers.

My system specs are:

Abit IC7-Mother board w/875P chipset

Has a built in soundcard with RealteK chipset

3DForce MX440-8x 64 Twin NVidia Graphice Card W/64 MB DDR on Board Memory. It has dual monitor heads.

512MB of DDR 400 Memory (Kingston)

40GB Seagate Hard Drive (UATA 100)
6GB Maxtor Hard Drive (used for back up) it's a UATA 33

PowerSampler+Elektra (6 DSP) cards

Version 3.1C of Scope software

I think that should just about do it. Take a look at this and let me know what you think. I took a look at the other forums to see if there was any information on this particular error and I wasn't able to find anything.

I don't know your mobo at all but:
1)disable on board sound
2)You must have a dedicated HD for audio, different from the one where virtual memory resides (usually the system one).
Any ata33 disk will slow down at his level (too slow for audio) any other HD put on the same channel, so my suggestion is to remove it, buy another ata100 with at least 80G, make a 10-20G partition for backup on it and use the remaining part for audio recording.

Each of the 2 disks must stay on a separate ide channel, and put a cd/dvd writer on the same channel as system disk.

3)disable anything you don't need

4)check that your CWA cards have their own IRQ (they can share it only between them) and don't share it with anything else.

If these conditions are met, you can see if you must upgrade the mobo or not, but your current setup speaks for troubles as it is...

Thnaks. I'll take your advice and fix all that stuff tonight. Just as a note, I only kept my on-board sound card enabled so that I would be able to do things with surrond sound, but if that seems to be causing trouble I'll disable it. I'm also planning to get 512mb more ram and a large serial ata hard drive for multi-track audio recording. I'll get back to y'all and let you know what I come up with.

Are you using WDM for audio? Upgrade to Sonar 2.2 (or 3.1) and start using ASIO immediately!! WDM gives me blue screens right and left.

Unless, of course, you're only doing MIDI...
