i agree, u might have problems recording thru a firewall

Seriously tho, only thing i heard about it was fuxed up things regarding firewire use, so u are right avoiding that.

Not much help in this answer, but anyway

If your on a PC you can pretty much be sure this combo will not function with out hitch, the MOTU cards and drivers are notorious for having "serious" PCI issues.

I suppose with a little praying and some good luck things may work out

Cheers!

There are many excellent dedicated converters on the market that offer adat (not to mention Creamware's a16 ultra).

Personally I use an RME hammerfall/multiface combo with my 2 creamware cards without any problems.

Thank you all.

But I don't realy understand, what kind
of problem could be, if I gonna use it
only as a convertor box thro the ADAT...?
My system is:
PC P3 866mhz
512 Ram
Pulsar II
Logic Audio 5.5

imho it's just too expensive in comparison to adat only converters.

hi,
if you ever plan to use the firewire-interface, you will need a TSB chipset from adaptec to play it save!

I'm thinking to purchase a 828mkII as ADAT converter with my PC system and my two Scopes. So, I can use the Motu interface also with a Powerbook in live events.

Studio: PC+Scopes+828 ADAT
Live: Powerbook+828 FW
