hi !
i want to hear your opinions about recoding and mastering in scope platform, i normally record audio signal in cubase with few options enabled (little compressor, auto-gate, limiter...), now i'm thinking to buy maybe OptiMaster or Vinco , but i want to know first how hungry are those plugs with DSP and what are the main differences between recording with cubase or scope platform ?
because in cubase i record just a signal which cames from sfp (asio destination)...
some tips here ?
thanks

I'm also interested in opinions on this. I usually master in SoundForge and am wondering whether I might get a better result if I used Optimaster ?

Optimaster and Vinco are very good, but you must use them on th final mix.
I have them and I grant you they are worth their price

Since got my Optimaster & Psy-q I've not touched anything else. Though UAD-1 is very handy helper in mastering too, but that combo gives me the sound I want immediately. Optimaster needs some learning and tweaking. Highly recommended.

yes, i want to use something for final mix...
it's not the problem that i don't get good results in cubase, but since i want to work everything under sfp, i want to try something else...
shame that there's no sfp sequencer, like cubase, nothing complicated, just for writing notes down on 16 channels (general midi), with piano roll, i think that would be really easy to do...or maybe i'm wrong..
have all nice day !!!

not to start again that discussion...but you'r calling for the devil

imagine the non-stop discussions about what should be implemented and what not...endless, it would start a 3rd worldwar

(I hate GM...)
btw, the mentioned CWA mastering tools are great, you won't regret them!

i'm so sorry, i didn't mean to
what you use for sequencing ?
i just know for cubase, using it 13 years now, but i never using it too deep, just writing notes and recording later...
i think i'll buy first OptiMaster

No need to say sorry

I use Cubase 5.0, using also stuff like automation, VST(i), etc.
It would take a lot DSP if my Pulsar2 had to handle that information
