Sorry if my rekindled interest in Creamware results in more stupid questions but...;^)

Looking at the Pulsar II I see it has an ADAT I/O connection.

As I have a Yamaha 01V mixer I was wondering if it were possible to connect the Pulsar II to the Yamaha 01V if fitted with the optional ADAT board?

Excuse my ignorance but if indeed this is the case would this be the best way to connect them?

With my existing PowerSampler I currently just use the L/R analogue outputs on the PS into two analogue channel inputs on the 01V

I don't know the Yamaha, but I think yes...that's a standard adat 8 ch optical connection, you have a total of 16 ins and 16 outs adat channels in a Pulsar2.

In the software you can also change these optical connections to stereo opt. spdif if you need that instead.

it fits perfectly, you can use it in many different ways.

As as a mega io-box as Alfonso wrote, to completely replace an SFP mixer by routing devices to adat out and the mixer output back into SFP via adat in or any configuration in between.
Also a great way to setup fx pathes for external gear.

In my case (a Korg though) I route some outboard stuff into SFP and the SFP master out back to the mixer by one adat pair and monitoring (for convenience) by the mixer's master out, for cases where the computer isn't on.

When Pulsar is running I mute the channel monitoring of the mixer (otherwise the adat round-trip would cause phasing), when Pulsar is off I switch the channel monitoring back on.

Unless the 01V isn't a 96 version the SFP mixer is considered superior, though.

Seems like it is best to go down the ADAT connection road then.
