Compared to hardware effects and high end plugins.. I'm thinking about the effects included in SFP.

Personally I really like Masterverb, but I don't really know how it is compared to other, expencive plugins and hardware effects. What are your opinions, and what are your favourite CW effetcs?

I usually just use masterverb and the onboard eq/comp on the stm. Seems it's enough for most purposes. I recently got in the habbit of using a multiFX as an aux send, put masterverb in there, and also have an overdrive at the end of the chain. Saturated reverb is cool.

I also use the stereo enhancer on all my tracks.

Dunno how these compare to hardware counterparts tho, as I've never had the luxury of using them.

I agree with you o the MasterVerb. Its a decent reverb plugin. Many of the other included plugins, like the compressor and the EQ:s can sound a bit cold or boring to me. They´re not crap, they do their job, but there are better EQ:s and compressors out there.
When it comes to EQ and compressor I use TC Electronics native vst stuff, but thers also some really good plugins from Sonic Timeworks.

The best way to decite how good these plugins are is to use your ear. Doing that will result in the discovery that you actually don´t hear so much "reverb" when using the Masterverb! In my opinion that is the greatest thing about that particular plugin. My Tc. electronics Megaverb for instance is a very sweet reverb, but you can definetely tell when you have added it to a track cause you can hear it! And of course this can also be good in many situations.

Yeah, I agree. The thing is that I haven't got the chance to try any high end hardware or software, so I don't know like.. where masterverb is compared to altiverb for example, or some of the more expencive lexicons. thanks for your opinions!

i find the eq very usefull, every eq cant be a pultec.

The Masterveb is a great reverb. Using it in post production or in big picture mixing, it "places" your sound exactly in the location the picture shows. In music, it works great - it is a real reverb, not just a hisssss behind every sound - like the majority of reverb plugins offered nowadays. I personally place it in the same category as the TC M5000 Powercore plugin. Maybe it isn't as good as the Lexiverb plugin, but on the other hand you must have ProTools to run that.

I difinitely think Creamware plugins sound great, I'm sure pro endineers with fantastic monitors can hear the difference between Creamware and more expensive alternatives.

Seriously I'm way my frustrated with my limited creative ideas than my Creamware sounds.
