i am experiencing something very weird with my pulsar system, it just started happening about a month ago.

i have the original 4 dsp card and an A16.

i am running the current software revisions for everything. using windows 98SE.

here is what is happening:

when i am using pulsar, for instance just playing a keyboard through the system, i will suddenly lose audio for about a second, then it returns. this seems to happen very sporadically, and i cannot determine the cause.

it does not matter whether or not i have selected any effects on the channel i am using or any other channel. it happens with no effects just the same as with a heavy dsp load. sometimes it occurs every few minutes, sometimes it keeps happening every few seconds, with no apparent reason.

oddly, it will not happen when recording or playing back from sonar.

it only occurs when i am playing through the mixer. it does not matter whether or not sonar is even running.

i suspect the A16 a/d's are somehow pausing for some reason, or i am losing sync with the a/d's somehow. cable swapping makes no difference.

i am running the A16 as optical slave.

any ideas?

i have double checked my settings, and everything seems to be right.

also it's kinda wierd that it just started happening for no reason, i didn't change anything.

thanks for the feedback though...

hi
It should not take more than 10-15 minutes to reinstall and restart windows
Its better than beeing anoid everytime when you have those drop outs. IMHO

good luck
