Hello there,
I just built a new PC (Intel D875PBZ, 3.06GHz, Matrox Parhelia, 2X80 & 1X120 GB WD hard discs, 2 GB Kingston DDR400, and 2 Pulsars 2 Plus. I am using Nuendo 2.0 and I am experiencing crackles both for Audio and midi performance ( STS 2000P ). Also the system crashes when I stop and play very fast. The card's latency is set at 4 ms 44100Hz, I tried the priority settings, I also tried deactivated Multi Proccesiing at Nuendo settings. Finally I am noticing CPU activity at VST performance even with only midi playing. I would appreciate any informations. Thank you.

Hi
Have you looked here?
http://www.musicxp.net/
I printed out their tweak list and when through each one.
Also Steinberg do have guides on installaion for SX they may have something here
http://service.steinberg.net/knowledge_ ... .2.2#9.2.2
and
http://forum.nuendo.com might be worth a try. May also be worth 'throttling' you system back until it runs smoothly then start speeding it up.
Regards
Kenf

Also if you haven't sorted your pci slot(irq) sharing you might check the threads on these forums for discussion on irq sharing (and ACPI) and how to fix any conflicts.

Hi there,
Thank you for your informations. I have already done the tweaking of XP and the IRQ sharing seems O.K. ( the pulsars don't share IRQ with any other device ). Meantime I raised the latency to 25ms and it works better. The system is multi proccesor ACPI and I am not sure if I must change it to standard PC.

Hello Christo!
Perhaps you should try to disable HyperThreading and install XP as Standard PC or single-processor ACPI.
Just an idea...

I for one, had to reinstall XP with single processor ACPI with HT turned off. It's a tough call. I cound never get mine to work multiprocessor with HT, but some have reported to have made it work. (so it's not impossible)
single processor with HT turned off works perfectly. (p4p800 p4-3ghz 1gb ram)

Hello there,
I have kept multi proccesor ACPI but disabled Hyper threading from BIOS, I lowered ULLI to 10ms and it seems that the system works fine. I tried the Nuendo 2.0 Demo with around 30 audio channels, plug ins and video and the Cpu performance was around 10%. No clips and pops. It looks OK so for the moment I will leave it as it is ( multi proccesor ACPI ). Thanks for the help.
