If I may ask you something, would be to smoth the attack of the Oboe, it is too tac tac. This will do it a more natural sounding instrument.

Maybe over lapping the notes of the oboe a few clicks may help to achieve a smoother legato.

Nice to hear the Personal orchestra. Hate the harp by the way(sorry).

Perfect atmosphere, cool.
I agree with Paul, the harp sounds like a studyharp for a young child, but that fits the atmosphere perfectly.
You know what, if you have the Echo2m, you could upgrade the harp sound in a great way, without hearing delays actually.
The 'toy' character of the harp would be kept, and you'd get a much better 'room' for it.


edit: oh, Paul you just hate THE harp you meant...?

I just don't like this particular harp tone. It sounds like it is played way too agressively and too near the sides(too much "nail" in the attack).

Aren't there more velocity layers in those samples in the Personal orchestra?

thanx for the comments. I admit that I do need to fiddle with the oboe a bit. (probably both oboe and bassoon) I'm still quite new to this "MIDI fiddling" area of music.

Also, about what y'all point to as harps, it's actually the nylon guitar from sampletank. That's part of why it sounds like it's being plucked too strong. To be honest tho, I played it half way through pretending I was playing a guitar, and then I switched over to pretending to play harps. But I do agree that the harps/nylon guitars are played too harshly. (so much for sampletank's low velocity layers)

certainly different from you Ken.
It sounded like harps to me too and gave it a Welsh or Austrian feel at times.
I agree with others regarding the oboes. Either softening the attack at times or reducing the velocities in midi. A bit of pitch bend (very slight) would help the oboes at times too and would give an Irish Pipes edge to them.
Liked it though.

You could perhaps EQ the harshness out of the plucking or cut the attack very slightly.
Otherwise a wonderful simple tune.
