This feels like a really stupid question, but I couldn't find anything in either SFP or Cubase's manuals about this, nor did a search of the Z yield any fruit:

I was just experimenting with mixing in SX and hit a snag. It seems like it should be really straight-forward, but I can't puzzle it out. How does one get an ASIO signal out to an SFP/external effect, and back in to the ASIO dest without using XTC or a SFP mixer (just mixing in Cubase & nothing else). How was it done before XTC?

Or was it?

SX 2.0 only?

SX NOTYET.0?

I should mention that I don't want to start eating trackcount bussing the returns into a fresh ASIO channel.

How about using XTC mode, I have just mixed using XTC and SX2 and so far works very well... Eq and compressor on most tracks....

That would mean giving up about half of my favorite and most used plugs... plastic, saturn, etc. ...from my cold dead hands!

I may not be understanding what your asking but the only way to run an effect w/o a mixer via ASIO is to connect it in the routing window to the apropriate I/Os.
