Hi,

I am finally migrating from Pulsar 2.04 to SFP3.1c, while upgrading my OS to Windows XP (fresh install). I have a problem, however: I can't seem to import my "allkeys.skf" file during installation. No matter what I try, the "next" button remains greyed out. I remember having similar problems when I had to reinstall version 2.04, we had to manually adjust something in the scope.rgy file, but I can't remember what.
Has anybody had any experience with this? I installed the latest ASPI drivers too, so I don't know where to look anymore. I forwarded this problem to CreamWare, but no answer. Help please...

Thx in advance

Vidi

Vidi,

I had this problem two days ago trying to update an existing 3.1c installation. Are you trying to install over an existing directory? I had to select a totally new directory before the NEXT button would become active.

Hi,

I tried all of the above, but it still doesn't work. Any other ideas? Creamware?
By the way, does anyone still have the install files for version 2.04? That's my backup plan, I only use this card for its XTC and analog IO's. I don't really think there's any need for version 3.1c in that case. Or is there?

If I remember well, 2.04 and 3.1c use different keys. Did you download your new allkeys file from your My Page at CW's?
If that doesnt work, can you import the keys one by one upon loading of a device?

Hi,

I downloaded this file from My Page, you're right.
While installing, the program asks for the keys (or you can import an allkeys file). Neither importing nor entering them manually works, the next button remains grey.
Is it normal I don't have keys for all devices that the install program asks for (I have a Pulsar 1)?

Thx

I'm having exactly the same problem.

I just bought a second hand Pulsar II. It came with an allkeys file on a disk.

I can install SFP3.0 no problem, and everything works, but when I try to install 3.1c, I get stuck on the keys page.

It won't import my keys file, and the NEXT button is just greyed out.

Copying the keys in manually doesn't work either :/

I don't know if the current 3.1c download is a full version or not, but when they first put it up, it was an update for 3.1a and 3.1a was a full version.

http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... 34&forum=1

Lookin at the website it seems that sfp 3.1c is all they have so it must be a full version.

Rozzer, how did you install the drivers? Did you let the installer do it for you (recommended if using win2k or XP) or did you let the computer detect new card and install the drivers manually?

OK,

Turns out my problem was quite simple. The Allkeys file supplied with my PulsarII was not the correct file. Once I got online and downloaded the correct one, everything went smoothly

I have exactly the same problem !! I have copied allkeys.spf and scope.rgy freshly downloaded from CW's "My Page" to C:SFPAppBin and when I run the SPF v3.1c installation program I can see the registration keys automatically inserted but the f...ing "Next" button stays allways grayed. I tried almost everything and CW support is a little bit collapsed I think, altough i wrote to them too. They gave me a new allkeys.skf with no results.
Any help?

i had this problem too, my solution was to install to an other directory. so my path is:
C:SFPSFP..

hope that helps.

Nothing happens... I've tried everything sugested on this forum and allways get the "next" button grayed. CW support showed total incompetency in solving my problem so the only way left is to post my problem here. I've tried installation on another PC (w98) with the same results, also tried different versions of adaptec's aspi drivers with the same results, The worst thing is that i see the serials automatically inserted by the installation program but the "next" is allways grayed, my allkeys.skf is freshly downloaded form "My Page" Someone knows where can i download a previous version of SPF? maybe it would help...

Are you installing SFP 3.1c from a installation CD? If so, try copying the CD contents to a HD and running the installation from there.

jla362, what card(s) do you own? Just making sure you don't have a Luna that requires a paid upgrade.

Also, I believe CW support currently has a large backlog and has only restartedin the last week or so as things seem to have been halted sometime in Dec. or Jan. for the company changeover. There was a post about it on the 10th of February: http://www.planetz.com/forums/viewtopic ... &forum=5&1

So in dealing with them beware they're about a month behind so things that typically take a few working days will probably take a few weeks right now. Be patient and persistant in your communication with them and I suspect you'll get what you need before long (unless you find another solution in the meantime of course).

I own a Pulsar (not Pulsar II). I have downloaded SPF v31.c from CW's site and I'm running setup.exe from an installation Directory on my HD. I have contacted CW and they have answered relatively quick, but all the things they told me to do are things that they read on this forum, so is very funny that the support of a company relies on a 3rd party unofficial Pulsar forum. They told me that "...I think we have tested all te known issues..." (I only received 3 mails from them telling me to check if I have installed adaptec aspi v4.7x and things like that) and that was the end of their support. Pathetic ! I begin to understand the company's recent financial problems ! I of course won't buy any other creamware product in the future just because their shitty support, but anyway that's other problem. I would like someone that would tell me where can I download a previous version of SPF, but still I haven't received any suggestion.

you're doing something wrong..i'm sure that you installed the drivers......if not,do that FIRST. when going from an older version, you must manually update the driver.(as clearly stated in the readme)

you don't need an earlier version. is your 3.1c a full install?the version on the website used to require 3.1a to be installed first, although i think that that is no longer so.

i have a puulsar1 a powerpulsar and a pulsar2 and i can promise you that not only does 3.1c work(if you have the proper keys),but it is the BEST version to run.(imho)

*edit*
if you have had a previous failure,it would be best to do an uninstall(if there are files still on your comp) and then run a registry cleaner(i recommend easycleaner by toni arts, which is free)before trying to install again.

I don't think i'm doing something wrong. I have installed the Pulsar card drivers first of all, I can see the card in device manager properly installed and "functioning properly" the card's hardware appears to be ok since i've been able to receive/send midi with a sequencer (this test was made with 2 different PC's with the same result). I'm not upgrading form an earlier version since i simply can't do that. I bougth this card from a person that lost the original installation CDs so I have to download SFP 3.1c from CW site. Actual SPF3.1c appears to be full installation product since it didn't ask for a previous version of the software. I know i don't need a previous version of the SFP but I'm asking for one just to test if with a prior version I at least make this $&s!* work. i'm beginnig to think that is a "allkeys.skf" problem. I insist, when installing I can see the activation keys automatically inserted by the setup program so at least up to this point i'm making the things alright. The shi*ty CW support sent me another allkeys.skf/scope.rgy that of course didn't work also. I can't uninstall anything since there were no installation completed so I have applied ToniArt easycleaner and proceed to install again with the same results.
I'm very grateful to all of you guys that are trying to help me with this issue.

i can assure you that this thing DOES work.

i suggest you start fresh.format and reinstall.if you need step by step, check the tips and tricks or ask,but definitely start over to save time.
