Hello all,
i deceided to switch to Cubase sx instead of 3dat. So far, so.. ok, Howver the darndest thing, it will not let me record if i engage the trutape option! which is a real bummer because i was highly anticipating using it. If i switch out trutape all is good again...any thoughts?

thanks in advance!

Make sure you've setup Cubase to record in 24 bit for Truetape to work.
If you up to SX2 (a major improvement), you'll get Magneto instead of Truetape, which can be applied after recording, much more flexible.

Hmmm, well according to the manual trutape should work for 16 0r 24 bit files andd does the conversion internally to 32flt?

No TrueTape in sx2?
Damn, I want to upgrade to SX but now I will have another thought on it.

I can speak only for Cubase 5/32.
You have to be sure that you switch to the correct recording mode, TrueTape 32bit, in the audio options.
Yes 32bit, not only 16 or 24bit.
I´m surprised about SX why should they change to 16 or 24bit only?

Hi
There are a few strange bugs with truetape... I think you have to enable it then disable it then enable it again...?
Do a search at...

I have been using SX2 since it was released, it is worth upgrading. Its a good product now.
