Yesterday I bought a new pentium 4.
I tried to install the pulsar card and everything seemed right.
But when I want to install a synth in the routing window I get the message: "Can't find DSP file linear Volume Attenuator".
What is this and can I solve this problem?
The card always worked fine on my old computer.

It's an installation problem. SFP Manual says to install to/from a folder w DOS names. You can fix this by manually copying the folders in /app/... to the installation folder. Of course, close SFP when you copy the files.

I have had similar problems ("can't find DSP file ....") with some 3rd party plug-ins. Could it be because I usually rename the files for estetic reasons?

Can you give me a dummy explaination, please?

you may have to manually drag and drop the file from the install cd to the folder where it belongs.also,be sure that you turn off antivirus software when using sfp.

1. disable HT tehnology in BIOS
2. instal SFP
3. enable HT tehnology in BIOS

OK, pulsar installed very good now, but I've got new problems now.
My computer is crashing every ten minutes.
I'd tried a couple of things I read on this forum, but nothing helped.
I've got a pentium 4. The pulsar installed on IRQ 17 and there is no sharing.
Is there anybody who can help me?

I tried those two, and I've still got the problem.
Can it be my mainboard.
It's a MD 8080 M-ATX.

here comes a post from the cw-forum:

I just figured out what the problem was. It seems that, particularly if you reinstall the SFP package, some of the DSP files' attributes are changed to hidden and system. Just use the DOS command "attrib *.* -s -h" to reset them and everything will be fine.

Hello,
Her is the whole situation.
I try to explain it in my best english.
A week ago I bought a new computer. A pentium 4, 3 GHZ with a MD-8080 M- ATX maiboard based on Intel 865PE & Intel ICH 5 chipsets.
I installed the pulsar card. First I had a little problem with the installation, but after disabling the HT tehnology in the Bios everything installed fine.
I was working in Cubase, and after 15 minutes the computer crashed.
I started the computer up and now after 10 minutes, and again, and again. At the end my computer crashed after 1 minute.
On the Planet Z forum I found some tips and I tried them.
First I assigned SFP to processor 0.
Then I disabled the USB 2.0. I couldn't find the jumpers on my mainboard, but in my bios I can disable the USB 2.0 so I did.
But it's still the same. In the morning when I start my computer up everything goes well, but after 15 a 20 minutes things starting to go bad.
When I close my SFP there is no problem.
Is there anybody who can help me and explain it to me. I'm becomming quit deperate now.
Thanks

is sfp receiving an external midi-clock ? (pulsar midi in)

Yes, I think so. I switched the Nord Modular off and started SFP, and the computer didn't crash (till now).
What do I have to change now? I didn't change a thing since I have my new computer and everything worked fine on my old computer with the same set up.

There must be a bug/problem with this midi-clock issue...

do you need your external clock? if not, switch it off..

all the best,
andre

Thanks Andre. The Midi clock is the problem.
You helped me a lot..
When I switch the internal midiclock to external midi clock in Nord Modular everything works fine. The only problem is that I can't use the sounds of the nord Modular now.

Yes I have a midisport. I'm now changing everything.
Do I have to report a bug like this to Creamware and am I the only one with this problem?
